Those dems are mostly from “conservative” districts and are a NECESSARY “evil” when they go off the plantation.
If the powers that be needed them, Nancy and Obama would have gladly twisted their arms, along with the rest of the “fence sitters”. It has been reported in the past that several of them ask permission to vote against the majority (To save their butts come election time) and Nancy says yes. Don't be fooled like their constituency, conservative democrats are just as bad as the “other ones” since they inflate the numbers which drives up their majority (And in close elections, can be the difference of majority/minority status).
If they were conservative they would not be Democrats!!!

Actually the NC AG is a rather liberal Democrat who is running for senate against Richard Burr. She not only will enforce Obamacare, she supports the public option. Oh well.

Their “sense” is that they had enough votes to continue to play make pretend with fools who think there’s actually such a thing as a conservative Democrat.
I am guessing Shuler at least got the “okay” from Bela Lugosi Pelosi to vote “no”, since the Stupak-for-Dead-Babies deal was struck.
It would be VERY interesting to see in WHAT ORDER the reps voted....lots of “no” Democrat votes may have been cast AFTER the libs reached their magic 216.
They had cover. That is the only reason they voted no.

I’d like to know if these three waited until it passed before voting ‘no’.
Apparently all three also voted against this in November, so they are at least consistent. That being said, we need to take back the house - my preference would be to take back liberal seats first, but obviously, they are usually liberal seats because they are from liberal districts; therefore, Dems in conservative districts will be targeted including those who, like the three above, did the honorable thing.
