GOP forms tactics to torpedo Dems

WASHINGTON -- Senate Republicans were girding for battle yesterday as they plotted new strategies to try to take down President Obama's health plan, repeal it, or tie it up in legal knots.

Just hours after the House passed a landmark overhaul, Republican strategies to fight back were emerging, even as Obama and the Democrats savored their biggest victory yet.

"There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year," fumed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on an Arizona radio station. "They have poisoned the well in what they've done and how they've done it."

"Outside the Beltway, the American people are very angry and they don't like it and we are going to try to repeal this," McCain told ABC's "Good Morning America."

Likely presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who pushed a health plan through when he was Massachusetts governor, called the bill an "unconscionable abuse of power" and called for its repeal, as lawmakers introduced legislation to do just that.

Republicans honed their death-by-amendment strategy yesterday to try to blow a hole in Part II of health reform -- a 2,000-page "reconciliation" making major changes.

I dunno....McCain and Romney, of all people, spouting about repeal; something doesn’t sit right.

I guess what’s nagging at me is the fact that the GOP has been SO quiet, relatively speaking, throughout this entire process. Steele at the RNC, so many others just mamby-pamby’ed their way around this for over a year. They let scum like Pelosi, Obama, and (gulp) Reid win in the public arena.

Will the Republican Party ever learn how to actually fight?

The GOP are the Red Coats who lined up nice and neat with battle rules. The Dems were the guerrilla warfare tactics of the Patriots.

Now, using those examples does NOT mean that I think the Dems were fighting for the ‘good side’ as we were during the Revolutionary war. Quite the opposite actually. But the GOP never quite got that Dems are underhanded and not playing by the same rules as the GOP (AMERICAN PROCEDURAL RULES). Even McCain’s shock at Al Franken treating Joe Lieberman the way he did on the House floor just goes to show that the GOP hasn’t quite grasped that THIS IS A NEW DAY. We are already in a civil war, the GOP just hasn’t believed it yet.

McCain needs to STFU. He will be grabbing the ankles again as soon as the dems start talking immigration.

I think he intended to say no more cooperation until he has won his primary.

I agree with everything, but this last line. Or maybe I don't get it. CNN's own poll has the public at something like 59 to 39 against this POS HC dictatorial action and what they did to enact it, so how are the dems winning in the public areana?

...And no the republican party will never learn how to fight as long as they have rino's and gutless conservatives getting elected!

All that I can tell you is that mcnasty and hair-boy both live by polling... and you can see which direction the wind is blowing by the direction in which their skirts are flapping in the wind. America hates dims and this socialism from the kenyan and his demons... and mcnasty and willard see it and are trying to ride it to Victory... but America also knows that they are a large part of the problem... and no part of any true solutions.

Go with your first instincts.

McCain and Romney, of all people, spouting about repeal; something doesn’t sit right.

DID ROMNEY APOLOGIZE TO GOV. PALIN YET?

"Let's lose twice for the GOP, attack Gov. Palin,
impose vitamin control, socialized medicine,
gay marriage without a vote,
and gouts of illegal immigration .. .and make money from it.
Oh yeah, AIG and ACORN will pay our way again."

"Romney presidential campaign staffers…have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters."

"Frum ... (Romney supporter called Gov. Palin’s) nomination a "huge mistake" October 13 (2008)"

" 80 percent of Romney's former staff was absorbed by McCain
and these individuals were responsible for what amounts
to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off
….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

McCain's roar is about a vicious as an old toothless lion's roar.

John, they don't NEED the Republicans' cooperation. You're just mad because you are in a tight Senate race, have to play to the conservatives, and are unable to do your reaching across the aisle to your friends maverickism.

McCain’s on Fox&Friends now. He is saying that they (Pubbies) would work with the Dems on issues, if the Dems were willing to show bi-partisanship.

[So much for his ‘non-cooperation’ roar.]

HAVE EITHER McCAIN or ROMNEY REMOVED THEIR STAFFERS
WHO ATTACKED Gov. PALIN and her CHILDREN on the EVE
of ELECTION 2008, throwing the Election to Obama?

No, they have not. Not a word of it. Nothing. Zip.

Why? Because Romney and McCain directed/condoned/
/encouraged/paid/promoted/endorsed their
staffers to attack the GOP Candidate and her children.

McCain and Romney are just playing politics, of course. McCain has JD on his tail and Romney wants the presidential nomination so bad he can’t stand it.
