Life, liberty and the . . . right to health care?
Chris Dodd has proclaimed that every American has the right to health care. He said so on tonights Countdown, while reminiscing about Ted Kennedy.
If health care is a right, what about food, shelter and clothing? Are they all legally enforceable rights? Where do these rights derive from? What country are we living in? Is it one that the Founders would recognize?
Here was Dodd, getting misty about Ted with guest host Lawrence ODonnell, and describing a right some of us didnt realize existed . . .

We can come up with 'rights' in this country almost as fast we can come up with laws. It should be obvious they are both designed to control the serfs.

A right to health care. But no right to life.

As I always point out, “health care” is not an ambient resource like air, or an intrinsic quality like the pursuit of happiness. “Health care” requires the active labor of others, so saying that health care is a right means that you believe you have a right to the active labor of others, regardless of your ability or even desire to pay for it.
This is what slaveowners believe.

He's absolutely right. Every American has a right to health care. In fact, everybody has a right to health care, American or not. They just don't have the right to make anybody else pay for it. Health care is neither a right or a privilege. It is a necessity. There is a big difference.

No! You should not be forced to work. That is cruel and unusual punishment. You are entitled to all your needs, and a few wants. It’s right there, in the Constitution. Or somewhere.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
That was BEFORE Obozo-Care!
You ALWAYS had the right to choose if you wanted it, AND PAID FOR IT accordingly.
Now, we're gonna be FORCED to buy THEIR choice, AND to PAY FOR OTHERS' BENEFIT.
This is total bullshit.

I’m losing my health insurance next week. Dod can use some of his funny money to buy me a good policy.

Who give us that right?
Should we go to war with other countries who deny this “right” to their citizens?

What a twisted, perverted world this has become where people now believe they have a “right” to the efforts and labor of others.
