Campaign staff and volunteers of Sen. John McCain and his former vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin are preparing for the pair’s appearance at Mesa’s Dobson High School on Saturday.
A spokesman for the camp offered a bit of advice for those wanting to get in: “Folks should get there early,” said Brian Rogers, McCain’s communications director.The event is free, on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require a ticket.

Also speaking at a rally in Tucson on Friday, the appearances are McCain and Palin’s first ones together at a public event since their concession speech in the 2008 presidential race.
Their appearance comes just four days after President Barack Obama signed a $938 billion health care reform bill. McCain has been an outspoken critic of the bill and plans to lead an effort to repeal it.
Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is stumping for McCain. She will speak about McCain’s values and what she learned from him during their 2008 presidential campaign and through his battles against his own party line, Rogers said.
McCain will speak about what he appreciates in Palin’s leadership, and speak out against what he believes are misguided priorities in the White House including government overspending, his concerns for the 17 percent unemployment rate in Arizona and the state’s home foreclosure problem as 48 percent of homeowners in Arizona are under water, according to Rogers.

No , Republicans didn’t give us big government the media lied and said they did but it was democrats who with a total media monopoly built this big government in the previous 100 years before 1994 when Republicans in 1994 finally gained a bare majority.
The media slandered Republicans every second of every single day for 8 years from thousands of media outlets, every newspaper, every TV in every American’s living room.
The trouble is most government educated people and liberals like you rabscuttle don’t have the background to understand what the media did to them(brainwashed them) and how the media slandered republicans.
For example the media called “spending “ for 2 wars ,the media made that out to be “government spending” or “Republicans increasing government spending”
1. spending for 2 wars may show an increase in the dollar value but that was not really “republicans increasing government spending” or “republicans growing government” and the media used this to turn conservatives against the GOP
2.Ditto for inflation. Inflation does not equal increases in government spending but the media used the dollar value to say “Republicans greatly increasing government spending”
when the government hadn’t grown but just the value of the dollar had decreased so something cost 2 trillion after 10 years instead of 1 trillion but it was the same size. But the media went crazy “oh look at that Bush increased government spending (government size) by $1 trillion dollars in 8 years” blah blah blah more lies. yet most people just see that and don’t know the media is not taking inflation, and spending for wars, and population growth into account just to make Republicans out to be the party of big government so that conservatives would turn against the GOP>
ok i have about 3 to 100 other explanations about what the media was doing but of course brainwashed people won’t believe reason or don’t understand how inflation , wars etc does not equal government growing.

Let me answer your post with a thoughtful response.
I went along with practical Republican politics for nearly 20 years now. I bought the reasoning that nothing is perfect, and that compromises had to be made.
One problem with that, though; look at the end result. A complete, unmitigated disaster, with the USA having been turned into another Eurostate. Epic failure, if one is faithful to logic and conservative philosophy.
I continued to practice practical politics during 2008 and was enthusiastic about Sarah Palin’s emergence and wild popularity.
Fast forward to 2010. The landscape has changed. Obama is underwater in the polls and there is no reason to be judicial, practical, or compromising in order to get elected. Anyone espousing national financial prudence has a big advantage in election contests throughout the country, with some victories already in blue states.
That is why Sarah Palin has become a disappointment to some of her formerly enthusiastic supporters. Does the woman not realize that this is not 2008? Is loyalty to a past associate more important that consistency with bedrock principles? How is hanging with John McCain good principle? It isn’t even good realpolitik, given that radically different environment that could be fostered with a little leadership.
I got criticized by another FReeper on a different topic thread for being so negative about prospects for real, effective change. While I didn’t state it then, in the back of my mind was the waffling (or whatever anybody wants to call it) by a person that we thought was true to the cause 24/7/365. Without exception. When things look the bleakest, to have Sarah go wobbly and actually fight another bona fide conservative is depressing. While liberals are assaulting this country tooth and nail, our tiger chose to wear oven mitts.

Wholeheartedly agree. Activities and behavior one would expect to find at sites like DU and KOS, but without the foul language that I’m told is permitted at those sites.
