Huge crowds expected for McCain-Palin event
The East Valley Tribune, Phoenix, Ariz. ^ | 2010-03-23 | Mike Sakal

Campaign staff and volunteers of Sen. John McCain and his former vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin are preparing for the pair’s appearance at Mesa’s Dobson High School on Saturday.

A spokesman for the camp offered a bit of advice for those wanting to get in: “Folks should get there early,” said Brian Rogers, McCain’s communications director. The event is free, on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require a ticket.

Also speaking at a rally in Tucson on Friday, the appearances are McCain and Palin’s first ones together at a public event since their concession speech in the 2008 presidential race.

Their appearance comes just four days after President Barack Obama signed a $938 billion health care reform bill. McCain has been an outspoken critic of the bill and plans to lead an effort to repeal it.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is stumping for McCain. She will speak about McCain’s values and what she learned from him during their 2008 presidential campaign and through his battles against his own party line, Rogers said.

McCain will speak about what he appreciates in Palin’s leadership, and speak out against what he believes are misguided priorities in the White House including government overspending, his concerns for the 17 percent unemployment rate in Arizona and the state’s home foreclosure problem as 48 percent of homeowners in Arizona are under water, according to Rogers.

MCain has 20 million dollars

McCain has spent 3 million(mostly radio) in the past 3 months.

McCain was 22 points ahead 3 months ago.

McCain now has a 76 or 8 point lead.

Hayworth has 200,000+

Hayworth has spent next to nothing

Better give up on this guy. I have a debate with him recently and he's stuck on "I hate people that show GW started this slide into socialism".

Simply refuses to acknowledge any truths.

I love Sarah Palin and respect her decision to support McCain. But, if I lived in Arizona, even with Sarah’s endorsement, I would not vote for McCain. The large crowds planning to show up are showing up to see Palin not McCain - same as in 2008. I hope poor McCain isn’t deluding himself to think those crowds are for him.

Sarah would be wise to heed the expression "we are judged by the company we keep". This isn't good.

It's going to get interesting when Obama launches his CIR, invokes the name of John McCain and continually uses it for his Bipartisan Kumbaya moment.

"Huge" turnout? How big is the venue at Dobson High School in Mesa, Arizona?

Student population is 2,200 (news) - 2,800 (wiki) students, Obama made a speech there last year, and for that visit, "Between 300 and 400 tickets will be available to the public for free on a first-come, first-serve basis." This news article amounts to a push poll.

Well, correct, but additional. McCain did it from the left, and Sarah from the right. McCain did it from the top down, child of an admiral marrying a beer heiress and buying his seat, and as you say Sarah did it from the bottom up.

Juan and Sarah couldn’t be more different.

I would love to see the crowd give Sarah a long & loud standing ovation. Then follow that with booing Juan McAmnesty off the stage.

I like Sarah very much, and still do, but I think her support for McCain has hurt her a bit.

My general observation, is that after her announcement of McCain, her thread hits have taken a little bit of a beating. While I appreciate your defense of her, don’t you think it’s a bit sophomoric to describe those who hold this observation as: “trolls, Paultards and Sarah bashers just flock to thread like this.”

Like many here, I really do like Sarah, but her support for the RINO McCain has really left a bad tast in my mouth.

By-the-way, would’nt a troll (Democrat) be pushing the virtues of McCain on us?

She will use the power of her following to be a king-maker and influence the party platform.

And that will be OK too. If the fire in the belly ain’t there, then best to let another step to the front.

This is sickening that idiots are backing McCain.

McCain has called conservative Republicans “racists” because they are against amnesty. McCain uses the same Alinsky tactics against conservatives that Obama and the Dems do. Palin is another Romney. Disgusting.

Absolutely. The only difference is that McCain “Alinskys”
conservatives much more venomously, than the libs do to us.
