China Sky One Medical Inc. has received Conformité Européenne (CE) certification for its Myocardial Infarction and Urine Microalbumin Diagnostic Kits, approving them for sale in the European Union member countries. The AMI diagnostic kit can be used by consumers for the early diagnosis of myocardial infarction. It requires the user to place a blood sample on a marker after which a plus or minus sign will appear, indicating whether the user should seek medical attention. It is based on an assay of heart-type fatty acid binding protein (hFABP), which peaks as early as one hour after myocardial damage occurs, much earlier than the clinically used markers troponin and CKMB. The kit has already been on the market in China since 2007. The Microalbumin Kit is based on an ELISA test showing if microalbuminuria is present, indicating early kidney disease.
Ping
I hope they make more tests available...we are going to need them...
good grief.
Do-It-Yourself heart disease diagnostic kit. Gotta love it. If I test positive, how long is the waiting period to get my DIY open heart surgery kit?
Oops, I was laughing too hard to read it accurately. Maybe I shouldn’t be practicing medicine.
Just like in Canada - 8 months.
How long is the wait for a kidney transplant kit. Maybe I could make some adjustments.
Yeah, like you have to wait an hour after the start of a heart attack to know whether it IS one.
What is that logo on the lower left of the box? Are those the little blue pills Obama told us to take?
Mild ones can have deceptive symptoms, especially in women.
I’m having a heart attck duh?
if you think you’re heart is failing for any reason...infarction or otherwise...best to get thee to an emergency room or call amber lamps
don’t wait to take a friggin test
any MD will tell you better safe than sorry...especially male over 35
i know so many stories of men in denial who just layed down thinking it would go away and that was the last time they laid down...when they got checked on, they were lapis colored
had a fellow who did work for me last month...came home felt bad...had an MI 10 years ago....figured it would pass and took a hot shower...the worst thing to do at that moment...died naked on the bathroom floor..61 year old Vietnam combat vet
I mean the test won’t tell you sooner than that what it is. I’d hate it if the only health care I could get told me that I had to wait an hour after the symptoms began so that a test would be possible.
Of course, the wait for an ambulance will be about 4 hours since they will be used as taxis for drunks and the elderly. Survival of the fittest, y’know?
Depends on how long it takes to find a drunk with your blood type.
Many people have mild heart attacks (myocardial infarctions) and never realize it because the symptoms are so vague. This kind of home test is potentially very valuable if it can get more victims to the hospital.
Welcome to obamacare.
I’d like to see an inexpensive electronic thingamabobby you could press to your chest and it would read the EKG and signal whether it thinks a heart attack is happening.
Every one over 50 and in any way in danger of a heart attack should make a Heart Attack First Aid Kit.
It is simple, two 325 mg aspirin tablets in a secure damage resistant pocket size container. At the onset of symptoms, chew the tablets.
Don't Leave home without it!!
Oh good. I have a common blood type. ObamaCare’s going to work out fine for me and my family. Too bad we didn’t have it when we went through a few catastrophic illnesses in recent years. We had to rely on other people to perform surgeries and various specialized treatments. Usually we even had to drive to their locations. Do you know how inconvenient that is? Not to mention the carbon footprint from all the gasoline, and eating at restaurants. This is better. Yeah.
