nursing student shall enter into a written contract with the Surgeon General that shall contain—

‘‘(A) an agreement under which—

‘‘(i) subject to subparagraph (B), the Surgeon General agrees to provide the student with tuition (or tuition remission) and a student stipend (described in paragraph

Are you currently connected to the medical community and what kind of chatter are you hearing about ObamaCare’s passing if so?

I spoke with someone who is a CRNA and expressed my concern that there might be a glut of nurses on the market if doctors do as they’re saying they’ll do. He told me that no, there’s a shortage and will continue to be.... He thinks nursing is still a good career choice.

Under the guise of tracking equipment, one hospital is using stimulus money for the “digital health records” technology. The intention is to “tag” certain patients and nurses.

The patients they have identified to tag are those with mental health issues, but we know it will not stop there. And it is interesting that they said they were going to tag nurses, but not doctors or any other personnel.

“The hospital plans to tag nurses as well to make “sure the patients are tended to as they should be; that policies and procedures are followed,” Lapham said.

Officials say they are looking forward to getting the system up and running. There is, after all, a lot of mission-critical equipment to track.”

On another issue....

Also one hospital plan to hire a lot of family practice and outpatient doctors to “assist” in the coming days to “streamline the process”. (I always wondered what Seibelius meant when she talked about this).

Streamlining the process would consist of hiring more doctors to the staff so that the digital medical records can be shared. Utilizing the digital medical records would assure that there is no duplication of tests or prevent duplication of tests.

Currently the Medical Center duplicates each test because they sometimes do not get the records, or “tests are not done prior to”. If they would take another doctor’s word about test results then there wouldn’t be a duplication, but I understand the need for a hospital to make sure they have the necessary information.

The doctors would use same electronic medical system which would raise insurance cost since doctors can bargain for more money for each service. Doctors can bill for more services because it is streamlined - they increase amount they bill for each service.

These doctors then end up on the payroll and are eligible for ....you guessed it.... the PERS system which is the Public Employee Retirement System—— the pension system.

Maybe I am reading this incorrectly but my thoughts are:

So it appears as though they are streamlining the process and utilizing digital medical records to save on costs, when really the costs will increase because doctors will charge more for the services and the ultimate objective is to get more doctors on the state rolls...and possibly in the unions.
