Let's put it this way.....Had this incident actually occurred, what are the odds that charges wouldn't have been filed?

In addition, now the Democrat members of Congress are claiming they've been threatened while others are claiming they were called derogatory terms, all by the tea partiers I presume.

Doesn't this seem awfully similar to the 2006 Duke University lacrosse case??

Didn't see any spitting incident. Neither did the white cop standing right beside the ahole. Of course he went to find a black cop to come back and try to start something. Either way, they deserve to be spat upon. They gave up any claims to deserving any respect at all when they through out the Constitution.

Doesn’t look like intentional offensive spitting to me. Just an impassioned protester and Cleaver got too close. JMO FWIW.

I watched it, as far as I could see the politician walked right in close enough so he could get sprayed from the guy yelling at him?

Hardly a spitting incident. I didn't here what he said.

He seemed to be chanting "kill the bill" along with everyone else.

The female police officer didn't react as if it was an assault.

The politicians were afraid.You could see it, until they reached the safety of the steps.

OMG..the guy was just yelling ‘Kill The Bill’ and perhaps...maybe a little excited spittle got on him, but it wasn’t deliberate by any means.

I would say this is evidence that it never happened at all...hence why the guy wasn’t arrested on the spot!!

At most this appears to be a “say it don’t spray it” type incident. Cleaver is exaggerating to the point of falsification here.

What would be the first instinct to do if someone spit on you..Mine would be to wipe my face did anyone see this liar put his hand to his face..This is bull..besides that these idiots did not have to walk thought the crowd they could have and should have gone through the tunnel..They wanted to cause some trouble..

Plus, they were trying to antagonize the crowd, by showing a cell phone toward them and taking pictures. Intimidation tactic 101. Not only that, for someone who got spit on, he had a delayed reaction in wiping it off AND then couldn’t even identify the person who allegedly spat upon him.

Still don’t see what the big deal is. A protestor may have spat upon him, but he and his cohorts decided to use our Constitution as toilet paper so I say we ended up worse than he did.
