Funny....but Beck now supports the Global Warming Hoax (along with bashing those who want Obama’s BC released....and Beck is now a blithering IslamoFascist and Anti-Semite....witness his comments about Geert Wilders)....

I figure James Cameron and Beck would get along.....even so much as Cameron giving Beck a part in Avatar 2: RINO Boogaloo

As entertaining as Cameron’s Avatar is, key parts are ripped off from Soviet science fiction. Does he think this can be hidden forever? Why no acknowledgment of his source?

Cameron has been labeled by one collaborator, author Orson Scott Card, as selfish and cruel. When asked about working with Cameron on the novelization of The Abyss, Card said the experience was

hell on wheels. He was very nice to me, because I could afford to walk away. But he made everyone around him miserable, and his unkindness did nothing to improve the film in any way. Nor did it motivate people to work faster or better. And unless he changes his way of working with people, I hope he never directs anything of mine.[66]

After working with Cameron on the set of Titanic, Kate Winslet decided she would not work with Cameron again unless she earned “a lot of money.” She admitted Cameron was a nice man, but felt he had too much of a temper.[67] In an editorial, the British newspaper The Independent said that Cameron “is a nightmare to work with. Studios have come to fear his habit of straying way over schedule and over budget. He is notorious on set for his uncompromising and dictatorial manner, as well as his flaming temper.”[67]

Sam Worthington, the latest lead actor to work with Cameron, stated on the Jay Leno Show that Cameron had very high expectations from everyone, and would often use a nail gun to nail the film crew’s cell phones to a wall above an exit door in retaliation to unwanted ringing during production.[68] During the promotion for Avatar, Cameron stated on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that although he doubts anyone would describe him as a mellow person, he is at least mellower than he was before.[69]

http://scifiwire.com/2010/01/was-avatar-ripped-off-fro.php

“The British Guardian newspaper reports that Russian audiences are noting the movie’s similarity to The World of Noon, or the Noon Universe, created by popular Soviet fantasy writers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, a cycle of 10 best-selling science fiction novels written in the mid-1960s.

Consider:

The Strugatskys call their world Pandora, and it is warm and humid and heavily forested. So is Avatar’s alien world.

The books take place in the 22nd century. So does Avatar.

In the books, the natives of Pandora are called the Nave. Avatar calls its aliens the Na’vi.

More from the Guardian:

Strugatsky, 76, appears to have shrugged off suggestions of similarities between Avatar and his Noon Universe, and denied reports circulated last week that he was accusing Cameron of plagiarism. On Monday, however, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper devoted an entire page to the affair, and carried out its own close comparison of Avatar with the World of Noon.

There are differences: In the books, there are two humanoid species on Pandora, and Pandora itself is a health resort, not a wild planet.

For his part, Cameron has denied in the past that he’s borrowed from other writers and has always insisted that Avatar is original.

What do you think?”

I think he ripped the flocking thing off!

He has an ego the size of Nebraska!

I've seen it and I wish I hadn't. Very overrated film.

Oh gosh,,, i don’t know what to think. Sometimes Beck makes sense. But on the other hand, who would know more than James Cameron about society, liberty, and climate science??

Can we get some rock stars and playwrights to wade into the issue and clarify it some?
