WASHINGTON, March 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Yesterday, Illinois became the 40th state where legislators have introduced, or will introduce, legislation modeled after the American Legislative Exchange Council's (ALEC) Freedom of Choice in Health Care Act. Having read Hostage’s excellent analysis of the Constitutional Convention, I believe it may be our only hope, and because of the unfunded mandates levied on them by Obama-Romney-Care, we might even see bankrupt blue states support the convention.

I can't see Illinois RATS going for this...they own both houses in the General Assembly and the Governorship.

Illinois should be prime for a Repub blow-out, but it ain't gunna happen.

Just shows that federal Health care would have never gotten through the Senate if state legislatures were still sending Senators to the US Senate.

Repeal the 17th Amendment!

Apparently, the prodigal son has taken one step too far, even for the fascist thugs who run Illinois.

Quinn and Madigan have already said that Illinois won’t be party to the effort.

Madigan will announce that it violates the Illinois Constitution; no hearing and no reason why....she’ll just say it does. That will give Quinn good enough reason to veto it and the assembly will not try to over-turn the veto. You know, cause Madigan said so.

Any amendment that passes the con-con would have to pass 38 states and there aren’t that many blues in the Union.

The only question I’d have, is are there any partially-ratified pending amendments out there (remember the ERA?) that could get pushed over the top by devious moves during a con-con, claiming that a state that is now conservative but used to be liberal can’t un-ratify what it ratified in the past?

This proves how out of touch Washington is with the rest of the country and why the Democrats are getting incendiary as they see their gains from 2006 and 2008 melting like wax before them. Let them rant and use it against them. They are self-imploding before our eyes. Eric Cantor’s retort was brilliant and we need to stay in their face.I am learning to just be forceful but non-violent. Righteous anger and indignation is not hatred but a good thing. Evil people always squeal when confronted with the truth.

The GOP in Illinois needs to quit navel gazing and get ready to take advantage of the coattails the GOP will have nationally this year.

40 out of 57 states, eh?

And yet the President of the United States is out there doing his pants-on-the-ground Kanye West impersonation in mocking, deriding and ridiculing the American people.

And then moving on to outright Rev. Wright-style hate-mongering. Which is coincidental since Obambi never, to his recollection, was awake during any of the sermons preached by Rev. Wright over a 20-year period.

Oh, and I missed where Obambi came out and rebuked Al Sharpton for calling him, you know, the same thing Joe the Plumber called him . . . um, a Socialist?

Or maybe he’s stepping too much into the neighborhoods of the fascist thugs who run Illinois? Either way. Right now, I’ll take it.

40 states out of 50, that means 80% of state governments oppose Obozo’s plan. How can he deny the obvious fact that the great majority of American’s oppose this obamination? It’s beyond me, way beyond me

The con-con cannot ratify an amendment, only the state legislatures or state conventions.

In our politically correct country, being a minority means one is not beholden to the facts.
