I know Im going to get slammed for this but the plain truth is this: We need a literacy test, a competency test, and proof of citizenship AT THE VERY LEAST before one is able to vote in America.Slammed? OK, I'll slam you.
You didn't go far enough. In addition to your conditions (which I agree with), only taxpayers should be allowed to vote. Taxpayers have a vested interest (and a financial obligation) to the nation. Those on the dole don't.
Underage dependents (children) don't vote, and for sound reason. Yet the adult dependent class does.
And the Democrats understand the dynamic of this voting bloc too.

Those on the dole don't."Anyone on welfare should not be allowed to vote. Maybe a little harsh to some but it is common sense. I will take this a step further. If you have a government job no vote. Most government workers are welfare cases anyway. We don't want to hear from them in any case. Will this ever happen. Not likely.
