Charlie Crist Gets Owned(!) by Rubio on Fox Debate - Now
Fox News ^

Posted on 03/28/2010 6:16:00 AM PDT by quesney

Live now on Fox

Rubio is framing the contrast very well. Excellent debate and criticism of Florida Governor Christie's support of the stimulus plan.

Rubio: "We need someone who can stand up to Obama"

Rubio on partisanship: "Lower the corporate tax, lower thwe capital gains tax, reduce the obstacles that make it increasingly hard to do business in America, and I'll be happy to cooperate....but what the Obama administration is attempting to do is fundamentally change America, and we can not cooperate on that."

Crist said he was “running as a republican”. That statement can be correct in any event. When he loses, he can say “I ran as a republican and now I’m running as an independent.” The clumsy, spoiled Crist cannot be trusted. He’s Florida’s Obama.

Rubio looked a bit slippery on the finance questions but overall a better choice imo.

1. made an illegal deal with the Seminole Tribe for casinos. 2. made an illegal deal with US Sugar to buy back their land for millions upon millions of dollars. Charlie likes to make illegal deals that he doesn’t understand that thankfully don’t pass muster at the legislature.

I had a friend, notice had and she was living in rich upper class chappaqua and said she would vote for obama because he would be a better friend to Israel.

I still bet she thinks that and blames B for being right wing.

Yankee Dems are so messed up in the head that they can not even see that their votes have ruined their old states and yet they still come south ruining their new state

Rubio would probably like to deck Crist. The financial stuff is not as publicized.

Fox replaying debate at 6:00 pm. I think there’s a link to the debate on this thread though. Try through 1 - 100. Thought I saw link.

Crist, Greer, and other “un-named” RINO state rep republicans should be investigated by the AG McCollum.

By the way...the unnamed RINOs live in the Miami area.

“Crist is a RINO. Before you tell us to leave because we are for Rubio, if the founders of Free Republic decide Crist supporters MUST GO, it shall be.”

Jeeze, I’m all with you on that. Maybe I’m communicating badly. Essentially what I was (originally) trying to figure out is how the Republican Senatorial Committee looks at candidates. In Florida you have two candidates, with either one as a shoe-in unless they’re caught with a pre-pubescent boy (assume Crist knows enough to hold that back, for now)...one of them essentially matches the voting record of Republicans in the Senate, while the other one is WAAAAYYYY to the left. So which one should make sense...clearly Rubio...who do they select...Crist.

IT MAKES NO SENSE.

There are way more than two Republican candidates. Bob Smith...Republican then Independent then Republican again from New Hampshire(?) is running too.

Initially the Florida RSC picked Crist but they had to with-hold their endorsement when Rubio and everyone else complained. This is when the pressure was put on the Florid R-chairman (Greer) to resign.

If I were a betting man I would give Rubio 3:1 over Crist based on these 45 minutes. But, I do not know Florida at all except that it’s flat, muggy and buggy.

We saw that question supposedly from a Tea Party leader and scratched our heads.

We’ve been to dozens of Tea Parties across the State and have NEVER heard of her, not once.

Plus, I’ve yet to go to a single Tea Party or 9-12 event where Rubio isn’t fully supported.

Florida conservatives are in unison, that was Fox pulling some fast one.

The "fair haired" governor was the choice of the Senate committee, to the chagrin of most Republicans, definitely us conservatives, in Florida. He was shoved down our throats. Rubio is a terrific conservative and a breath of fresh air.

But but, Crist isn’t going to quibble about the numbers!!!!!

Crist spent 1/2 of the debate lying about Rubio the other 1/2 cleaning out his own drawers.

Crist killed himself today.

Like Rubio said, nobody ever had to question if Reagan was going to run as a independent.

If he looked slipper it was wondering where the hell Crist was going with it.

Rubio has been more than aboveboard with releasing his records. Crist has accused him of getting “back waxes” on the GOP Credit Card.

The attack are ridiculous and have done more damage to Crist then to Rubio - I can’t understand why Crist keeps using them. Except for the fact, it is all Crist has.

As I mentioned on the Sunday Morning Talk Show thread:

On a number of occasions during the debate, actually a pummeling by Rubio, I noted:

Did everyone just see that “Oh shit, I just got caught” look on Chollies face?
