Rubio is framing the contrast very well. Excellent debate and criticism of Florida Governor Christie's support of the stimulus plan.

Rubio on partisanship: "Lower the corporate tax, lower thwe capital gains tax, reduce the obstacles that make it increasingly hard to do business in America, and I'll be happy to cooperate....but what the Obama administration is attempting to do is fundamentally change America, and we can not cooperate on that."

Truly, we should be propping him up for a run for the White House. He is light years ahead of his kind.
I have also heard him speak. Incredibly intelligent and logical as well as a dynamic communicator. His running mate should also be Erik Cantor.
If we let this one slip by and ignore him over the likes of the current list of tarnished candidates, we deserve what we are going to get in 2012.
And Crist aligned himself with McCain and Lindsey Grahmnesty as well. What's odd is that Mitch McConnell has endorsed Crist. Geesh, what are you thinking, Mr. Senate Minority Leader??
What I want to know is what's going on with some of the Florida Tea Party groups who apparently "aren't satisfied" that Marco Rubio is the best candidate. WTH??? Sounds like a bunch of stupid turf wars going on, or some people in FL are trying to turn their Tea Party groups into some "official" party or organization. Not good, if so... The Tea Partiers are supposed to be an "unorganized" group of grassroots patriots.

Same here... Rubio is by far the better candidate. What I hope to hear from Florida FReepers (I pinged some above) is WHY some Tea Party groups - specifically in the all-important "Villages" community - in Florida apparently "aren't satisfied" yet that Rubio is the best candidate. WHAT the heck is up with that??

Marco Rubio is the son of Cuban immigrants... Marco was born in Miami, so yeah, that would qualify him to be President someday... ;-)
The Villages are infested with yankee liberals. It’s a retirement community and most of the residents come from outside the state. What’s so hard to understand. He is liked immensely by the Tea Party groups in this state but as with all groups, some biases die hard. The Crist campaign was big early to float the idea that Marco was for Amnesty only because of his heritage and still tries to beat that drum.
Marco’s parents fled Castro and worked hard to give their children a future. His dad retired as a bartender and his mother at all sorts of service jobs like a hotel maid. Hard work, self reliance, you know the kind of things conservatives are really against (sarc).
Marco has a strong future ahead of him if he performs well as governor. Happy to see that he is destroying teabaggee Charlie.

There are already stupid turf battles going on with some Tea Party groups in this country, and I'm just wondering if something is going on behind the scenes here. I suspect there are a few (hopefully ONLY a few) self-important "King Rat" types running some "chapters" of these Tea Parties, and they're not doing our side any favors...
The grassroots Tea Party movement shouldn't be "organized" and divided into "chapters" in the first place, IMO.

Thanks for your reply. I assumed there are a lot of yankee liberals infesting The Villages, as in all of Florida. I thought most of the residents of The Villages were right-leaning, though, hence the HUGE positive reaction there for Sarah during campaign 2008. I hope you're correct in that some of these "biased" Tea Partiers in FL will get their act together and rally around Rubio for the GOP primary.

Yes, Marco and his family have quite a story! I learned about his background while at CPAC last month. Rubio is a most impressive candidate, IMO.

What has gone on is a bunch of Republican insiders have hijacked the grassroots movement and more or less have turned it into a fundraising scam. That isn't the case everywhere but there are cases where this is true.
I’ve just about had it with Cornyn.....sometimes I don’t trust him any more than I do McCain. Hutchinson got her clock cleaned in Texas for gooberner and somewhere there is a REAL Conservative to take Cornyn down.......(somewhere).
Yeah, I know of one nationwide group (NOT the Tea Party Express - they're clean as far as I know) where stuff like this is rumored to be going on. I'm not sure if I should name names here at the moment, as I can't yet prove it...
Just judging by today's debate, my husband is convinced Crist is gay... LOL!
He got married - to a woman - right before he was elected governor (or soon after), right?
Does Crist have any children? In the debate today he mentioned "...my children and grandchildren..."
