I don’t think he’s an awful chair, but he hasn’t been as good a one as I thought he would be. And I agree with your assessment about what this thing is about. Just because he one time made such a request is completely insignificant to me. Why is this being leaked and by whom? The 2K expense for questionable entertainment is much more concerning to me. But once again, is it true? What are the circumstances? And why not deal with it quietly instead of announcing it publicly? This is not being handled very well.
Reagan would do what he had to do. In 1976 he actually recruited a very liberal Republican from Pennsylvania Schweiker to run as his Veep.
And everyone knows that Daddy Bush was a big moderate Republican until he became Reagan’s VP and suddenly became pro-life the day after.
Reagan knew how to build winning coalitions . . wasn’t an exclusionist like many people think.
Plus it can fly you directly from where you are to whatever out-of-the-way airport is closest to the plant you need to visit.
Steele is a good communicator, high-profile, charismatic, etc. But this is over the edge . He will be under pressure to either explain or resign.
You are living in a time warp plus you strayed from the point. It’s disgusting that people run to the first class on others money. And your outrage over the ‘beating’ that the CEO’s took when they flew in to D.C. on private jets, shows how removed you are. Those idiots flew in to snatch tax payer money...disgusting. And these instances are not isolated...using everyone else’s money to cruise through life in luxury.
It MIGHT be over the edge, but I can’t tell that from this. Someone is obviously trying to hurt him with this revelation and that doesn’t make whoever it is a credible source in my mind. It’s worth an investigation by the leaders of the RNC, though, unless they’re the ones making this public instead of dealing with it the way they should.
If you’re satisfied with that there’s nothing I can do about it.

As much as I really don’t like Steele because he has been completely ineffective in his post, this smells.
Obama had a slight bump after the passage of Obamacare just like we knew he would but now his numbers are tanking again and the Dems are scrambling for every bit of dirt, every distraction they can get their grimy hands on.
IF it’s true, then he should go. The GOP certainly doesn’t need crap like this right now just when they are gaining some momentum on repealing this POS legislation.
But right now, I’m not buying it.
Steele needs to be FIRED YESTERDAY.
He’s an embarrassment and a drain. I refuse to give RNC one more dime until 1) Steele is gone and 2) the RNC takes a pledge only to fund non-RINO candidates.
I think they’ll be waiting a long time for my money.

I haven’t given them one red cent for about the last 3 years. Until they start showing some real conservatism in their leadership and endorsement of candidates I’m starving the pig at least in the little way I can.
Every time I get a donation letter I write on them that they’ll get my money when they get a spine and I send that.
I wonder how long before they start to get it?
