Yes, but to what end? Is it to stall a court martial and allow them time to arrest him for being AWOL while they get the “technicalities” right? Do they want to imprison him as intimidation and stop this case from moving forward for as long as they can?
Will they use his imprisonment as a warning to anyone else who might consider this? And how long can they keep him in prison for being AWOL before adjudicating his case?
Can they sentence him to an inordinate amount of time as this could take YEARS to unravel before it ever gets to a civilian court that would try it on its merits...let alone the SCOTUS?

Is moot? A foregone conclusion perhaps, but not moot. Moot means to make something obsolete. He's not mooting my prediction, he's only ensuring its accuracy.
Lakin made his decision and seeing it brought up is usually about a hidden agenda at play. ‘Accurate’ probably, but “the point” is used as crocodile tears by Lakin’s opponents. Oh no, he’s going to end his career! Beware!
He's not natural born. That requires being born in the country of parents who are citizens.
He may or may not have been born in the country, but he definitely was not born of parents who were citizens, and does not even claim to have been. He also never claims to be "natural born", rather he claims to have been "native born", which he might be.
