Matt Smith, the actor playing the new Doctor, was stopped at Heathrow airport because he was carrying a sonic screwdriver.

Officials took the 'Doctor Who' gadget for a weapon when a security scanner revealed what was in Smith's luggage, according to The Sun.

...

"But going through the X-ray scanner, it probably looks like a weapon, albeit something you'd see in ‘Star Wars.’

Now, how is the following description NOT reminiscent of a "liberal progressive":
The resulting creatures are a powerful race bent on universal conquest and domination, utterly without pity, compassion or remorse. Various storylines portray them as having had every emotion removed except hate, leaving them with a desire to purge the Universe of all non-Dalek life. Occasionally they are shown as experiencing other emotions, including fear, although such occurrences are rare.

To: Jack Hydrazine; All

I just watched the first episode here in the UK! Woo hoo!

All first episodes with a new dr are a bit wonky - they have to fit all the new dr stuff into a regular episode. Tonights monster wasnt up to much, although there were some interesting aspects. I didnt think much of the new theme, but I did rate the new companion...amy pond is HOT. The new Tardis interior is pretty cool too...its ENORMOUS (twice as big as the old one). All in all, it looks promising :)

I am looking very forward to it! I’ll keep an eye out for it on YouTube.

Maybe a DW thread should be started today.
