Youngstown congressman cancels meeting when protesters appear Wednesday, March 31, 2010 10:02 AM

THE (YOUNGSTOWN) VINDICATOR

YOUNGSTOWN -- A congressman canceled an informational meeting on the new health care law because of security concerns.

Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan scheduled the meeting yesterday in Youngstown but called it off because his office was concerned about inadequate security.

About 15 demonstrators, including Tea Party members, had showed up to protest the wide-ranging health care overhaul signed into law last week.

Ryan's office says the meeting wasn't intended as a political forum and will be rescheduled.

This is Traficant's former seat. He would have voted no, and even if he hadn't, he would have argued with 1500 protesters. Ryan is afraid of 15.

Oh, for Pete’s sake. Fifteen people?

I bet he had to go home and change his pink panties after he cancelled.

It was informational and not a "forum". Got it?

And then toss in some paranoid partisan hysteria about "adequate security".

And the Left STILL claims that McCarthyism was unfounded even after proof of Soviet influence had been uncovered. Fight the smears.

15 angry old farts with posters, and he’s skeered

And since when is any public meeting not a “political forum”

He expected to read them the obama talking points while they said “Thank You Sir may we have another””

These dems can run but they can’t hide- unless he intends to campaign from a TV screen like the wizard of Oz

This is the first of many excuses for Representatives to hide from there constituents. They are quite aware they done us dirty, and do not wish to be confronted on it.

Not just rank and file, either. I ran into my Democrat/on the doll/full ride public assistance neighbors today, and I fully expected them to be behind healthcare reform. They were as depressed and worried as hell. More so than I have ever seen them. Even the CNN/welfare crowd knows it is screwed. There may yet be hope.

He voted as a conservative 85% of the time. I loved the guy.

It’s funny, my libinlaw was acting really nervous this past week, avoiding talking to us, etc.

I’m not even sure if she understands that it’s not “free healthcare” yet or not.

Healthcare reform is one bill even the far left non-politician liberals are paying close attention to. There are no doubt a few that still think it’s going to be free healthcare—I think Rush was talking about such a case last week—but most have realized it is a disaster in the making. Why the polls aren’t even worse I don’t know. Finding somebody who likes this thing is harder than winning the lottery.
