Residents of a small Mexican border town under siege by at least one of the countrys most notorious drug cartels are fleeing into a tiny Texas community, which is on high alert and preparing for a surge of illegal immigrants should a street battle break out with another cartel or if gunmen begin carrying out a threat to start killing the towns children.
At least 30 residents of El Porvenir, located about four miles from the Texas border town of Fort Hancock, have crossed into the U.S. and asked for political asylum, telling authorities that they fear for their lives. Fort Hancock officials tell FoxNews.com that they consider the situation serious.

It is now getting real ugly on the border. Thanks to all our Open Borders/Amnesty friends (I'm talking to you John McCain, Lindsey Graham)
I own land not too far from Fort Hancock. It will be sad that my land will be overrun by Drug Cartels and tehir trafficking.
Sounds like a good time for our government to place well armed reserves along the border....WELL ARMED.
Lock and Load!
there, I fixed it
Right out of the movies - but it’s real life. Where’s Gary Cooper?
Wonder why he didn't send the TX National guard?
Open borders now!/s
Please be as sarcastic and pissy as possible but please no threats.
After you have received the form letter/e-mail from them send your e-mail and the response to either the editor of your local news rag or on it's forum page.
I've yet to receive a response from McCain or Grahamnesty.
I know the e-mails themselves won't get anything done but if you inform the uninformed about these two slugs maybe people will see the light and not vote for them.
I’d say it sounds like a good time for citizens of Texas to arm themselves for self-defense, but I’m fairly sure they already have that covered. ;)
I got this from a guy who personally knows a certain Mexican farmer. The bad guys came and kidnapped all his employees and they are asking 2 milliion pesos. The farmer convinced them that he would have to come to the U.S. to get the money. He thought he and his workers would be safe then but they still have them all. The farmer knows that if he pays them it will just happen again.
The really sad part is that he is afraid of the Federales because they are criminals too. He has a farm in another state where he thought the Federales weren’t crooked so he called on them and they agreed to help him...for money.
Here’s a novel idea. Send every available INS agent in with the National Guard and dragnet the whole town. Unless you produce the proper credentials, we ship all of them back to some Mexican jail and let their judges sort it out. There comes a time when due process isn’t really practical any more.
I agree, to a degree!
Goodhair does have the responsibility to protect the citizens of Texas. And if armed invaders are coming across the border and putting the lives and livelihood of Texas residents in jeopardy, then he has the right to protect those citizens.
he can’t “arrest” them for being illegal aliens, but he can certainly “repel” the, from harming Texas residents!
But, he doesn’t have the gonads for that!
That should take about 15 minutes. The town of Ft Hancock has what 50 buildings max?
Don’t forget George W Bush and Karl Rove. They wanted a “Congress they could work with on amanesty” in 2006. They proceeded in a way not very unlike PelosiCare.
No beans and bullets???
Seems to me to send our armed forces would be a prudent thing to do in this instance...
With specific orders to protect our citizens, not theirs, and secure the border with all due haste...
But what do I know...
It seems to me that if the Federales won’t protect Texans living down there, then Texans should!

EL PASO — Republican Gov. Rick Perry continued his battle against the federal government Thursday, as he deployed National Guard helicopters to the border and reiterated that not enough is being done at the national level to keep Texas safe.
Perry activated the Texas Military Forces OH-58 Kiowa and the UH-72 Lakota helicopters to patrol the border between El Paso and Brownsville as part of the first phase of his Secret Spillover Violence Plan.
....snip...His announcement came on the day that federal leaders gathered in Washington, D.C., for U.S. Rep. Silvestre Reyes’ 14th annual Border Issues Conference.
Perry has often blamed the federal government for not doing enough to secure the border. His criticisms have angered some, including Reyes, D-Texas, who has said there is no spillover violence. Reyes questioned Perry’s motives in an election year.
“The governor is more interested in creating fear than solving problems along the border,” Reyes said. “We are dealing with it.”...snip...
(Democrat Gubernatorial Candidate Bill) White said border cities are safer than other parts of the country because of a “targeted” drug war in Mexico between cartels and the effectiveness of local law enforcement agencies.
“Exaggerating border violence can undermine economic development efforts of border communities, and that hurts Texas,” White ..said Perry had not done enough to work with local officials and federal agencies.
