New York Times: The Government and the Militia Movement (Here it comes!)
The New York Times ^ | March 30, 2010 | The Editors

Posted on 03/31/2010 5:12:31 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The F.B.I.’s raids against members of a Michigan-based Christian militia over the weekend added to concerns about rising far-right activity across the country. Nine members of the group, called the Hutaree, face sedition and weapons charges in a scheme to kill law enforcement officers to incite an antigovernment revolt.

As the government deals with the re-emerging militia movement, what did it learn from the experiences of the 1990s, from the disastrous sieges in Ruby Ridge, Idaho, in 1992 and at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Tex., in 1993 to its handling of Oklahoma City bombing case?

Lessons of Ruby Ridge

Jess Walter is the author of “Every Knee Shall Bow,” a nonfiction book about the Ruby Ridge standoff (re-released in 2002 as “Ruby Ridge”). A National Book Award finalist for fiction in 2006, he is the author of five novels, most recently “The Financial Lives of the Poets.”

The resurgence of radical right-wing extremism in America starts with today’s headlines: economic hardship, overheated political rhetoric, a perception that middle-American values are eroding.

The last such brush fire of extremism was already smoldering in 1992 (as it is now) when federal law enforcement agents doused it with gasoline—a series of missteps and cover-ups during a shootout and standoff that left three dead at Ruby Ridge, Idaho.

A year later, 79 people died in a shootout and fire at the Branch Davidian Compound in Waco, Tex. As the mishandling of these cases came to light, the radical right made unprecedented inroads into the mainstream. (continued)

gearing up for Martial Law - no election.

Meanwhile - nothing to see here...and you wont as they are closed communities. Know of any American closed communities?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebg6AFylios

repeated all over this country - even the women are being taught how to slit throats.

http://creepingsharia.wordpress.com/2009/11/16/known-terrorist-training-camps-in-the-u-s-map/

watch the training starting about minute 4

Can you imagine if, back in 1940+, there were Nazi training camps across this country? Better start to speak, live "under the radar."

So our muzzie POtus (POS for short) is going after the Christians and leaving his friends alone - will they be the ‘generals’ of obyummers “Private Security Force” -

Yep, these Hutaree “wannabees” were exactly that...”Low Hanging Fruit”, and they got busted...

When it all goes down...There will be plenty who have taken care of business “on the pot” and will be of the right frame of mind and purpose for the “change you can believe in”...

The ultimate gut check question will be...

“What are you willing to do about it, and what are you prepared to sacrifice for it?”

To me there will be plenty who know where they stand, and can answer that when the time comes...Others will be the fodder and additional “low hangers” you probably won’t have to worry much about...It’s a shame, but that’s their business, not mine...

Well, let’s face it; it has been overplayed all the way back to the Democratic primaries.

In his own words, “I’m the President.”, which means he was elected despite the issue of race.

Sorry, pal. Deal from another deck.

Hmmm and how many reports do we see of the FBI taking down members of MS13 (or insert gang of choice with many illegal immigrants)with such feverish reporting?
I’d bet many of us would be safer around these nine Christian right wing extremists than around nine members of a street gang.

No agency on Earth has the potential for abuse held by government in general. It is wise and neccessary to distrust government and scrutinize every iota of government's activities and interests.

Too many people tend to be lulled into viewing government as a loving parent, government isn't, and can't be.

Governments first concern is for social order, and this is often at odds with individual rights. Freedom is inefficient and messy, tyranny is sleek and efficient, and a lot more attractive to those charged with keeping order.

===============================================

"I believe that liberty is the only genuinely valuable thing that men have invented, at least in the field of government, in a thousand years. I believe that it is better to be free than to be not free, even when the former is dangerous and the latter safe. I believe that the finest qualities of man can flourish only in free air – that progress made under the shadow of the policeman's club is false progress, and of no permanent value. I believe that any man who takes the liberty of another into his keeping is bound to become a tyrant, and that any man who yields up his liberty, in however slight the measure, is bound to become a slave".

H. L. Mencken

"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master."

- George Washington

Whenever leftists come into power they start seeing domestic enemies around every corner and under every bush. They need enemies, they need a steady supply of Goldsteins to fuel their power grabs - if they can’t find any, they’ll manufacture them.

There are groups out in the hinterlands too smart to be infiltrated or even easily observed. They are nothing at all like the naieve and unsophisticated Hutaree.

Whever I feel myself getting disgusted with all these Democrats playing with the levers of power, I think of all those “brilliant” people out there who voted for them.

IMHO

One of these times, they are going to hit some 1%ers and Waco is going to look like a summer camp. There was word of this on Friday evening and they didn’t raid till Saturday. Could have been bad. I am sure the MM will not be cought unaware the next time command trailers and bunch of out of town cops show up in the local area.

I had to spend time with one of them tonight. I don't get it. The person used words like social justice, fair, high costs..What my brain heard was "Free Pie for All." "Everyone deserves Free Stuff." I was ready to vomit.

Tomorrow I think I will go join a militia and split on a “democrat” and call him racial slurs. Might as well since were getting blamed for it anyway.

Well if your company hasn't left yet. Ask them how it feels to be using the term “Social Justice” as one woman did describing Hitlers policies in Germany as he was coming to power.

All dictators and tyrants find the term “social Justice” a convenient way to sucker the uneducated into the foal.

No, no, no. Spray air freshener on him and call him a 'turdblossom' and tell him you did it because Socialism stinks. If that makes the news, that should cause all kinds of confusion among the MSM, because, as you probably know, 'turdblossom' was a pejorative that the Left loved to use against Karl Rove.
