MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (AP) -- One officer called to a home day care to help control an unruly 10-year-old used a stun gun on the boy and another slapped him in the face when he wouldn't listen to them, a central Indiana chief police said Thursday.
The child suffered no significant injuries. Both officers have been placed on administrative duty while the Tuesday confrontation is being investigated.

All it took for me was the sound of my dad’s belt racing through his belt loops.
All it took for me was the sound of my dad’s belt racing through his belt loops.
Sometimes, I wish teachers could get away with such a response.
Sorry about the double post sorry about the double post.
So what will people say was the worst offense?
The stun gun?
The slap?
Or a ten year old who doesn’t respect any authority?
Which of these will lead to lifelong problems for this child?
Really? All it took for me was the sound of my middle name.
Uh... Police Chief Davis, restraint is force.
LOL, You and me both, that is one sound that will stick in my head forever. (forgive me for not double posting)
Julia, me too!
Just doing his duty THX1138 style!
Gee, I wonder what would happen to me if I slapped my son in front of a police officer... or “stunned” him for that matter...
Good reference. How many people do you think have any seen this great movie?
With me it was my grandmother and my mother.
They did good because we (4 of us) grew to be responsible.
By the way, none of us were on drugs, drunks, etc.
All four of us have our college education and three of us have our MBAs.
Once Obama starts to pay for our college education, we are thinking of going for our PhDs.
The officer who slapped him had it right. Too bad our society has degenerated such that parents no longer have that tool. The result has been a generation of out of control and disrespectful brats.
Oh no, Martintucky alert!!!!
Anyone from central Indiana or Morgan county (like yours truly) knows what I mean.
Sniff...it’s making me homesick ;)
Oh, I know what that sounds like. It’s the sound that kicks in the “flight response” deep down inside the brain. And you hope you can get away till dad cools off a tad. If he cools off. LOL
“Which of these will lead to lifelong problems for this child?”
None of the above - it is the lack of parental responsibility that spares the rod, and the society that says parents can be prosecuted if the do not spare the rod. PC must die.
Regardless of why, the fact that this 10 year old would not obey a policeman will cause lifelong problems for him unless it is corrected in a hurry.
“Or a ten year old who doesnt respect any authority?”
Unless the child is committing a crime the jack-boot has no authority over them what so ever...
