(CNSNews.com) – Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson said her agency’s inaugural regulations on greenhouse gas emissions on cars were only “the first” of such regulations, promising that her agency would move “deliberately” to institute regulations in other areas of the economy as well.
Speaking to reporters on a conference call on Thursday to announce the new regulations on cars and light trucks, Jackson explained that – for now – the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was only regulating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from cars and light trucks.
“These are the first regulations that cover greenhouse gas emissions in the United States,” she said. “Certainly it shows that it can be done, but I think it shows more than that.”

I thought it was only congress that can pass regulations and not an unelected agency?
Not that the constitution matters to these clowns, but I think a good case can be made to eliminate the EPA based on it’s consitutionality when Obozo is fired.
There is a lot more to the looming tyranny than mandates about health insurance and care. This seizure of the energy and transportation sectors in the name of the environment will be far more obtrusive and controlling. Everybody uses energy every single day but rather few need a heart operation or dialysis. We have allowed these tyrants to gradually assume control of industry and commerce in the cause of “clean air/water/earth” and we are about to reap the full consequences of this.
That is incorrect. Congress passes laws (or statutes) which enable the agencies to pass the regulations to implement them. You can see this in most libraries' reference sections. The sum total of all laws/statutes are contained in the "US Code, Annotated." Regulations--rules made by agencies within the discretion given them by the laws--are published daily in the Federal Register. The sum total of existing regulations is contained in the volumes of the "Code of Federal Regulations." The CFR is many times bigger than the US Code.
I have heard that Obama’s appointment to the TVA board of directors is an ecological fruitcake / fanatic. Folks I know say that policy decisions are going to be made that will drastically increase the monthly electric bill for average folks. These people are radically evil.

At what point are there so many regulations out there that people shrug their shoulders and say “to hell with it” and blatantly start breaking the law?
I would say it has already happened, just go for a walk, people pretty much ignore jaywalking laws, we break many laws everyday, everytime we drive to work, eat lunch, order something online, etc.etc...
At what point does this apathy turn into willfull anarchy?

About 15 years ago I was talking with my economist brother-in-law about the trends of increasing government, which of course require increased regulation and taxation. He joked that one possible future was what he called "the Italian model" where there are tons of regulations that are widely ignored, and only enforced when the noncompliance is either too flagrant or steps on the toes of someone in authority.
I suppose in some areas it has already happened--such as jaywalking or bedroom behavior--because there are too many laws to keep track of and they are too ridiculous to obey. Also, there are no-go zones even in the US, where petty crimes aren't enforced because it is easier to catch and fine a more or less law-abiding surburbanite.
However, we haven't got to the point where we could get in the future with things like taxation. I think its possible that the size of the off-the-books underground economy could grow substantially in both size and public acceptability as the governments demands grow.

Between federal, state and local laws, there are so many laws on the books today that, if they were all enforceable, America would be the most oppressed nation on earth. Political critters today pass laws to justify their positions in a "Show 'n Tell" moment, but don't really care if the law serves any purpose.
Beside, conservatives are the only ones who try to obey all of these crazy lawa and, IMO, that's about to come to a screeching halt as we engage more fully in civil disobediance.

One of my all time favorite books.
Ayn Rand saw this coming and tried to warn us in 1957, but we were too dense to get the message. I understood (after about my 4th reading of the book) that Atlas Shrugged was a blueprint for the future more than it was about anything else.
So far, Odumbbell and the Dumbocrats are proving that my assessment was and is correct.
And, we haven’t finished playing out the finale of Ayn Rand’s blueprint. It’s going to get a lot worse.

This is the same NObama who froze my Soc Sec along with 40 million others, saying there was no increase in the COL.
My propane cost per gallon went from 2.99 to 3.40, a 13.3 % increase. Also we had a very cold winter, & snow is predicted for tomorrow thru Monday. I hve used about 68% more propane than prior years.
House insurance went up 8%.
Gas has gone up about a dollar, which is 32%.
So much for “no increase in the cost of living.”
They don’t seem to care what their policy decisions do to people. Worse yet, they may know and are trying to suck the economic life out of the populace. I thought these folks were against slavery, but the logical effect of their economic and fiscal policies will make slaves of us all.
