It might be because he has plans to deconstruct any youth organization like this in order to covert them into HIS version of socialistic youthful soldiers.
The parents are a little to tough to sell over but children are prime targets for spiffy uniforms and a cool salute.
Its an advertise fact in Obamas campaign to have the Youth Corps, why support Boy Scouts?

One of the scouts in our troop recently received a congratulatory letter signed by Obama. 1st in the troop. Thank goodness my 1st Eagle Scout was under the Bush presidency.

The ugly rumor regarding Obama's refusal to sign Eagle Scout Certificates is begging to really annoy me. I process Eagle Awards for The Boy Scouts of America and every certificate presented to a new Eagle, after the transition period from Bush to Obama, HAS BEEN SIGNED BY PRESIDENT OBAMA. Parents have even brought their sons Eagle certificates back to the BSA, which were earned before Obama was officianated to sign, in order to have a new certificate issued with his signature, FREE OF CHARGE from the BSA. So all you haters can just start another ugly rumor about our Commander in Chief.
