School Propaganda in Texas

If you ever thought that the word "indoctrination" is overused by conservatives as it relates to the education of our children, check out the following document given out by a teacher in Texas to her high dchool government class. She distributed this without parental consent, and did not allow her students to take the paper home. I think you can see why. Notice first how the "angel" is beside "Liberals," and the "devil" is beside conservative.

The pessimistic view of human nature is a true one.

From my studies, this analysis of philosophical/worldview differences is pretty accurate.

The angel/devil paradigm COULD (and probably does) refer to the particular philosophy’s views and assumptions about the nature of mankind.

Obviously, this was written by an “educated” and “objective” person. /s

Notice how liberals LOVE to compliment themselves and their “intelligence?”

I don’t think it’s too inaccurate. The angels and demons indicates they’re view of human nature. Wasn’t it John Locke who said that if men were angels, government would be unneeded (referring to government being required to enforce justice, not distribut dole)?

The pessimistic, or tragic, view of mankind is true, and is biblical.

It also is empirically proveable as being correct.
“Given the fallen view of mankind, if this policy is implemented, this is what will result.”
This has been shown to be true repeatedly.

That teacher’s analysis is full of holes. It claims that Liberals have faith in democracy and yet rely upon activist judges to do much of their dirty work. In reality they only have faith in voters if they are voting their way. If not, they lie, cheat, and steal to get past the voter’s wishes (see Omabacare).

Liberals= Want to control you and make all your decisions for you.

Conservatives= Want you to take responsibility for your actions and better yourself through education and experiences.

WOW...what a bunch of garbage (most of it)...."Liberals also favor rapid movement toward constitutional or democratic forms of government because of their confidence of the enlightened citizen to make wise and prudent choices at the ballot box."

BRAINWASHING and PROPAGANDA at it's best!

This teacher has been teaching for 16 years...

It should say; “The teacher was dismissed after 16 years.”

Actually, the part you quoted was what I would say would be the only propaganda, ie, inaccurate, phrase in the explanation.

Yes, the “pessimistic” view IS correct, and it is the precise view of our Founding Fathers. They knew that men have a sin nature, and they gave us a governmental framework which, if adhered to, would give us the best chance at Liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all, and at KEEPING it over the long haul. However, down through the years our public “servants” in government have bastardized it to the point that our freedoms are nearly gone! Do we have the stones to take it back?! Only if we are willing to vote them ALL out and then put term limits on the new ones!

Probably right.

However, the teacher should be fired.

Not for any particular reason, I just figure it is always good to fire a teacher.

Since when do “liberals” seek rapid movement toward constitutional forms of government? If that were true, they’d not be stomping all over the one we have, which guarantees their freedom to be asshats.

Call them leftists! To call them “liberal” is to associate them with freedom and individual liberty; they are all about control.

This moron also assumes that all conservatives are motivated by religion. Not at all true.

I don’t know if Charles Krauthammer originated the notion, but he writes, correctly, that liberals believe conservatives are mean, and that conservatives believe liberals are stupid. (He goes on to point out that the conservatives are correct.)

The two sides are not symmetric.

Conservatives have an inherently more difficult case to make to decent people in a time of peace and relative prosperity. Liberals get to use the seductions of being nice. Conservatives must persuade the decent middle to think things through.

Personally I veer to the “flawed masterpiece” theory of the Human condition, partly because it avoids the negative connotations of “pessimistic view”. Its really a very clever article. I applaud its technical skill, even while I deplore its bias. Superficially it appears very even-handed, but subtly it directs people very clearly.
