What simpleton analysis. Liberalism does not believe in the perfection of humanity rather liberalism at least the modern variety is steeped in the ideas that the individual person can not be trusted to make decisions or exercise responsibility for themselves that humanity is irreparably flawed and that society must rely on ever larger government to act as a “corrective” agent. Liberalism has at its heart the essence of pessimism about mankind and even a antianthropomorphic core about the role of humanity on this planet.
I have yet to meet a liberal that understands the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution.
I have met many delusional liberals. They imagine laws that do not exist, armies that do not exist, and imagine intelligence that does not exist (their own).
Exactly the left most fears Democracy especially in the realm of competition of ideas. That is why so much effort is put into simply beating down and intimidation of their opposition.
It doesn’t matter the issue.
Going through criticism for conservative views right now in the public school. No one posts stories to show the persecution (except me, of course). Oh well.....
One of the reasons I am not a liberal is that I have seen plenty of evidence refuting the idea that man is basically good. Plus, a basic advantage of pessimism is that things occasionally turn out better than you expected. :)
If liberals (leftists) are angels then why have leftist governments killed about 150 million of their own citizens in the last 100 years?
There, fixed it.
Conservatives are less likely to believe propaganda.
but there are no investigative reporters anymore. Let's hope some parents get on this - print this piece out and ask their kids if they have seen this?
The sheet generalizes quite a bit, but is essentially accurate. It is a normal view of the difference between attitudes of liberals and conservatives. I do not think that it is at all that bad.
I could find some exceptions, though. For example, conservatives nowadays have confidence in the ability of normal adults to regulate their own lives; liberals seem to think that a wise government (congenial to their own ideas) is necessary to guide or rule society. The statement that “conservatives are distrustful of the average citizen’s ability to direct a government” is (in my view) somewhat misleading. I, as a conservative, mistrust anyone’s ability, even that of a supposed genius, to direct an all-powerful government.
Conservatives favor freedom, and believe that a free society tends also to provide the only security worth having: the security based on a population of sturdy adults, used to managing their own lives. Liberals think that freedom is over-rated, and are willing to trade it for forms of security which seem illusory to conservatives. Conservatives wish to be acknowledged as adults; liberals want to be taken care of in every need, like infants.
Conservatives believe that history teaches lessons. Liberals view history as progress toward the anticipated, utopian future, which will be better and quite different from anything which has happened in the past.
Conservatives favor non-governmental influences; liberals seem to think that almost all problems require governmental solutions.
There is also a problem with the statement that conservatives favor the status quo. Not now we don’t! Most conservatives nowadays are constitutional restorationists. At least I am. I do not like the present (except for the technological advances: good medical care, and neat cars and computers). The social and governmental tendencies are all bad, and I think that one must go back to before 1900 to find a healthy social environment.
To try to fire the teacher who handed this out is really rather ridiculous, though. On the scale of what goes on in school, this is nothing!
The “libertarian” or western branch of the Conservative ideology embraces this ideology. It abhors big government intrusion into individual freedom and the use of force (regulation) to make people behave as the majority wills. It also rejects the Nanny state (parens patriae) which discourages self-governance and responsibility. Limited government, local control, fiscal restraint, maximized freedom are its principles.
We homeschool. For a reason.
We homeschool. For a reason.
probably MANY reasons!
The web site refers to “NEISD.” A Google search shows: Northeast Independent School District, which is located in San Antonio, TX. The school was Roosevelt High.
This teacher forgot to add to the Conservative definition that “Conservatives believe in firing incompetent idiots despite 16 years of alleged teaching”.
They don't understand the fallibility of man.
God's word isn't good enough for them ...
Jer.17:9
None of us "walk on water" and yet they wish to believe they do. We just try to do our best knowing we are imperfect. [9] The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
As usual the idiots show up!

The fallen nature of mankind is the reason we are told, in scripture, basically to “mind your own business”.
We are to work diligently within the sphere of our understanding, and leave everyone else to do the same,
and let God take care of the “central planning”.
