US Refuses Visas to all Israeli Nuclear Scientists
American Thinker ^ | Clarice Feldman

Posted on 04/08/2010 7:39:29 AM PDT by the Real fifi

In a new and ridiculous policy, the US is denying Israeli scientists who work at the Dimona reactor site an opportunity to refresh their knowedge, Joshua Pundit reports:

Ma'ariv reported today that the Israeli government was stunned when every nuclear technician at Israel's Dimona reactor who had submitted visa requests to visit the United States for ongoing university education in Physics, Chemistry and Nuclear Engineering had their visa applications summarily rejected, specifically because of their association with the Dimona reactor.

As noted already, every single Jewish voter could have voted for McCain and Obama would still have won.

There are just not that many of us to matter.

Certainly not enough to warrant this transparently selective outrage.

A better example would be Tomás de Torquemada, a Jewish convert to Roman Catholicism who lead and inspired much of the nastiest parts of the Spanish Inquisition.

People turn against G-d, regardless of ethnic origin.

RJC: Report that Obama administration
is denying visas to Israeli scientists
is deeply troubling
Washington, D.C. (April 9, 2010) — The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) expressed serious concern today after a report in one of Israel’s leading newspapers, Maariv, that the Obama administration is denying visas to Israeli nuclear scientists working at the nuclear research center in Dimona.

In the past, scientists and researchers from Dimona have routinely come to the United States to study chemistry, physics, and nuclear engineering at American universities and to attend professional seminars.

According to the report, the Obama administration has stopped issuing visas to Dimona scientists solely because of their affiliation with the Israeli nuclear center.

Reactor employees reportedly have also complained that the Obama administration has stopped selling them reactor components that the U.S. routinely sold to them in the past. Professor Zeev Alfasi, the head of Nuclear Engineering at Ben-Gurion University in the Negev, told Maariv that the U.S. has never sold nuclear material to Israel, but now the Israeli nuclear center must buy other items, such as radiation detectors, from France, because the U.S. is no longer selling anything to Dimona.

RJC Executive Director Matthew Brooks said:

We are very seriously concerned by media reports that the Obama administration is denying U.S. visas to Israeli nuclear scientists working at the center in Dimona and refusing to sell equipment to them.

This would seem to be another example of the unprecedented, harsh, and hostile posture the Obama administration has adopted toward Israel. President Obama continues to extend a friendly hand to Mideast dictatorships like Iran and Syria, while slapping our most important strategic ally there - and fellow democracy - in the face.

This is apparently yet another breach in the bipartisan tradition of U.S. support for and friendship with Israel that built the U.S.-Israel alliance over many years. We call on the Obama administration to cancel any policy of discrimination against Israeli nuclear scientists and to restore the traditional friendship and cooperation that have characterized the U.S.-Israel relationship.

His actions convince me that he would like nothing better than Israel failing........Except for the USA failing.

I honestly don’t know how we can make “O” understand how much we support and respect Israel.....I don’t believe he really cares.

I think it is just sad to tell the truth. I look and see a very hard working man who adores his wife and kids, who takes pride in his work, who treats his employees very fair, etc. but he is so blinded by views like this one.

Update..politico reports a WH denial. Joshua pundit finds it unpersuasive and Roger L. Simon doesn’t believe it either—he is seeking more information from Israel.

I agree with you take. There were many good Germans but they got bombed by us too. They had a shared fate with their Nazi fellow Germans

I see all that Trungpa stuff on your home page. I slightly knew one of his girlfriends....circa 1974. That dude got around. And the man who took over his operation (Swedish I think) died of AIDS. When these gurus come to West they eventualy weaken and want to sample the big buffet. Or as someone else put it — “It’s the KaliYuga and even the great gurus are f***ed”

During that era all Germans were NAZIs.

As for Trungpa's womanizing on what basis is that weakening? He wasn't married or a monk.

At that time he sure didn’t fit my idea of a “master”. But his book “Cutting through spiritual materialism” was a big deal in the circles I traveled. Early during his residence in the Weast, Trungpa was in a serious automobile accident. I think he was in pain and on pain meds for the rest of his life. He put away liquor which was often obvious in when he gave a speech or lecture. All this pain meant he was going to gave Americans an un-sober and distorted version of Tibetan Buddhism. There are many Tibetan teachers in America and Europe these days and they have a plain lifestyle

I am not a practitioner or anything. Just an observer.

Trungpa was one of the clearest teachers of the Dharma that has ever come to the west. Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism is an excellent work. The only book my teacher ever required me to read. He, my teacher, a Buddhist for over 37 years now, considers Trungpa's teachings to be excellent. I don't think his drinking affected his Dharma. At his level there is no doubt or confusion. Hell, even at my level, which is far from Trungpa's, there isn't much.

I personally know several teachers born in Tibet who have never "sampled the big buffet." But they are monks so they have taken vows not to. On the other side of that coin I have heard stories of many monks who broke their vows in India and Tibet. I don't think coming to the west is much of a factor.

I am sure he screwed up a few teachings for his students along the way. Probably on purpose. Putting Dharma students through some chit is part of it. Cutting their attachments to expectations and pre-conceived notions.

I am just saying that's how he is viewed by the Buddhists I know. I have read a couple of his other books which were very different than CTSM. They were good too. But I never met him and serious teachings happen in person, whether one-on-one or in a group, not from books. My trust in my teacher is stainless so when he tells me Trungpa was outstanding I have no doubts about it. His books reflect that.

Obama knows nothing of national security, but he plays the part of someone who does on tv. Palin knows the difference between make believe and what it means to be an American. Obama does not, and neither does his base. Palin does not pretend to be an expert on national defense. But she is an American — in birth and sentiment. So she would appoint people who are experts. Obama is not an American — at least, not in sentiment. Not in any way, shape, or form. He is a radical socialist. And he will always appoint people who share a similar view. And that view, if anything, will always be against what America has heretofore stood for. If Obama’s national security appointees are experts, their expertise is in how to make American values extremely unsafe. And Obama’s idiot base says, ommm ommm ommm.

Freepers are down on Jews and Blacks because they elected 0bama, or so they think. They rightfully resent 0 in the White House so they take it out on those two groups.

I despise the 0bama regime and so will more and more Jews as they figure out that this evil White House denizen wants to destroy Israel by a circuitous route. Indirectly via his Muslim bruthas in Hamas, Iran and Hezbollah.
