Electricity rationing ...
Say isn’t the unemployment so high in Michigan because of Democrats?

So I guess in the future everyone will be employed to install solar panels.
Yup, that’s a long-term plan/s

So now, Detroit ‘yutes’ will be trained to incompetently installed electric meters in tenements, shacks, and apartments that have been abandoned. So what’s really gonna happen? They gonna show up for one morning, sign up, get some BS printouts of ‘the program’ and then sit back and collect a check?

Same here in California. My Edison bill has quadrupled. It’s ridiculous. People here are severely ticked! (to say the least).
To: NoRedTape
quadrupled! whoa.
If I understand in California they charge you more during “peak” usage times. They haven’t said anything like that here in Texas. I guess I’d be doing laundry and running the AC at night if I lived out there.

The lure is tempting. Especially when work gets tough and taxes and prices get higher. I just never have been one that ever felt that I should ‘get a check’ without somehow earning it through means not connected with ‘simply voting’ for a communist.

...two programs to train workers for jobs in electric utilities... Are electric utilities hiring? Not in central Florida. If none or very few are hiring, why bother with training programs?

the lure is getting stronger even for folks that are hard workers here. have a good job and get laid off, file for unemployment while looking for a new job. now, as an industrious person who doesn't want to be a burden, you pick up a job at lower pay, then that business crumbles, or was just seasonal, whatever.. and you're out of work again. so while trying to find a job, you file for unemployment, and get kicked- you get half as much unemployment because you were making less for a while. people are seeing that happen, and just quit bothering to take those intermediate jobs.

This is actually simpler than installing cable tv.
What it DOES do is create LOTS of Union electricians.
We blew the main 100w breaker in our home. The first guy came by and wanted $1000 to fix it and I nearly threw him off my property. The next guy wanted $300 and it took him 10 min.
