First lady Michelle Obama is descended from a South Carolina slave. Yeah, and her flop-eared Nazi Socialist husband is decended from a slave-catching/slave-selling tribe in Kenya. If they want to bring in history bring it all in. FUBO

Why? Obama covers-up his hatred of whites and Jews.

I thought BO was over in Europe bringing peace and harmony among our allies.
I didn’t know BO had time to think about the proclamations of a historical matter from state governors.
Nice to know he is using his time so wisely.

What about obama leaving freedom out of his communist agenda? This is not Kenya after all...

I don’t seem to recall any mention of the disproportionately high welfare and crime rates
during “Black History Month”.
Is THAT an “unacceptable omission”?

McDonnell needs to go on the serious offensive and state that he consciously avoided the slavery issue to avoid embarassing the democrat party, but now that it's been brought up he's going to formally apologize on their behalf not only for slavery but for their complicity in the entire Jim Crow legacy.

Hey Obama, the unacceptable omission was when your mother forgot to issue you your brain.
Get lost, idiot.
The old slavery bit doesn’t work any more. Your supporters are there because of their culture, not because of their race.
To: reaganrevolutionin2010
Leaving the Democrat Party’s slavery out of the discussion is also unacceptable omission.
In 1854 Democrats passed the Kansas-Nebraska Act which essentially made slavery legal in the USA. The Civil War followed shortly. Abe Lincoln freed the slaves, the Democrat party formed up their terror wing the KKK, to keep their political power in the south. So slavery is important, and discussing it and who did it is also important.
History is your friend. Read it or repeat it.

Our President “recognized” Irish Americans in March without mentioning their horrific history as slaves in America.
What up with dat?
To: reaganrevolutionin2010
Well, ObaMao, if that is true, you can't talk about your "home country" of Kenya without talking about slavery either.
Kenya, and your Arab-African ancestors, not only were among the earliest of slave traders, but they were the most recalcitrant as well. A generation after Americans fought a bloody civil war to put an end to this practice, your homeland was still an enthusiastic practitioner. In fact, it was the British navy which had to interdict the traffic in slavery to Kenya and the British government which had to set up a colonial government to enforce it.

The hypocracy lies with those who would disconnect the Democrat Party from it's major part in slavery, the Confederacy, Jim Crow,
really big government and the rejection of natural law.
Any history of the Late Unpleasantness that makes no mention of slavery is a lie by omission, so I agree (for the first and I hope only time) with Zero.

President Obama is absolutely right about this.
And, of course, any thorough discussion of slavery should include an examination of the role played by the East African Muslim Slave traders. However much we should condemn the descendants of Confederate soldiers (97% of whom came from families who did not own slaves), we should even more condemn the descendants of the African slave traders. Failing to do so would constitute an "unacceptable omission".
