I agree because of her young age (49), It could also very well be Gov. Granholm of Michigan.

Who do you think named Stevens? Ford, a liberal Republican.

You got that right man...it’s a fire up the base issue and all politicians care about is playing the game instead of doing what is right. I honestly think the only way to REALLY stop abortion is going to be through the Supremes...the Pubbies had the whole govt this past decade and did nothing like you said. Disgusting.

There are no protestants on the Court. None— Zero , Nunca!! This is a protestant seat!!! 52% of us are protestant and we demand representation on the Supreme Court!! WE want an Evangelical on the Court.NOW!!!~

I don’t think that we have anything to worry about. Even an ultra-liberal replacement will not change the ideological composition of the Court.

Same goes if Ginsburg retires ...

The one ya gotta watch is if one of the 4 conservatives or if Kennedy goes - THAT is the fight we want to win ...

We better hope Roberts, Scalia, Thomas and Alito stay healthy...

And, Anthony Kennedy, too.

. If we can take a big bite out of the Dem majority or even reverse it, we can force a better appointment than Stevens!!!!!

I would think Democrats would move to confirm another judge well before January of next year.

It took Bush 8 years to get two nominations.

0bama hasn’t even been in office two years and has two nominations.

Don’t tell me the judges aren’t ideologues. They have been holding out for a liberal to take office. Hope the conservative judges do the same.

Nope, ironically those guys ruled that we cannot clone them...

We can clone dinosaurs, and California Condors, but no on any politicians and supreme court justices...

Lets see if the republicans have the stones to fight another socialist nominee this time. Whattaya say, Orrin?

Trusting Orrin? What a joke.

They won't trash the nominee, because "Republicans just don't do that sort of thing."

How about the two factions of this corrupt "Two-Party Cartel" who are bought & paid for by the elites, can't allow a conservative SC because it is not in their interest.

You and I may not trust Orrin, but the people who do and thus count are the multitude of uninformed voters of UT! They are sold on him.

Republicans are just too timid and cowardly to do much. They are Casper the Friendly Ghost Republicans.

They don’t have to filibuster, which they would not do anyway. What they need to do is expose any Obama nominee, and the exposition if done would be sufficient to force them from contention. But they won’t even expose such records and background. Don’t want to make waves, like GHWB said in his debate analyses.
