Richard Dawkins: I Will Arrest Pope Benedict XVI

April 11, 2010 Richard Dawkins: I Will Arrest Pope Benedict XVI Marc Horne

Atheist campaigner Richard Dawkins RICHARD DAWKINS, the atheist campaigner, is planning a legal ambush to have the Pope arrested during his state visit to Britain “for crimes against humanity”.

Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the atheist author, have asked human rights lawyers to produce a case for charging Pope Benedict XVI over his alleged cover-up of sexual abuse in the Catholic church.

The pair believe they can exploit the same legal principle used to arrest Augusto Pinochet, the late Chilean dictator, when he visited Britain in 1998.

The Pope was embroiled in new controversy this weekend over a letter he signed arguing that the “good of the universal church” should be considered against the defrocking of an American priest who committed sex offences against two boys. It was dated 1985, when he was in charge of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which deals with sex abuse cases.

Now what he says is beyond frightening....it looks like the pope is completely on board for what will one day be a world governance. Though he has mingled in with his statements enough to make his remark appealing to the uninformed and feel good crowd, nevertheless his statementsis strongly supportive of world governance.

Why don't you crawl back under the pile of dung that you came from

The "christian" witness is astounding.

I see none of the Chesed(lovingkindness)
of Yah'shua (Jesus) in that statement.

May you come to know the creator
of the universe who provides salvation
for those who will call on His NAME.

“When they make stupidity and arrogance a crime, we might have something to get Dawkins on, but until then, I guess our hands are tied.”

Well I hope they don’t make stupidity a crime. I know a lot of stupid people who are actually quite nice, and would do no one any harm.

As for Dawkins, and Hitchens too, (Christopher, not Peter), at least intelligent people can point out what annoying ignoramuses they are. I have no idea why so many who call themselves atheist seem to hate the religious so much.

I’ll tell you how stupid that Hitchens is. In an interview he said he would like to eliminate religion as a source of value, particularly moral values. Guess what he wanted to replace it with; literature. Good grief what an idiot.

I do not believe in God, but I certainly do not care if others do, and find the best Christians the most honest, decent, and reasonable people I’ve met. Why would anyone object to that.

Hank

absolutely those remarks were a direct hit and highly abusive....so why isn’t this then being addressed on this thread by the moderator? I may not agree with you and others but Wow they went over the top!

Anyone who points fingers at the Catholic Church over the pedophilia issue, is likely pointing fingers back at themselves.

Any organization that is composed of humans is going to have human foibles and human errors and bad human judgment in it. Nobody is in a position to be able to throw stones.

Thanks for making my point clearer than I could.

I suggest that Dawkins Google “Vatican Swiss Guard”.

Dawkins thinks that people who teach their children about religion should be charged with child abuse.

Here’s one thread about it. There was another one but I’d need to search more to find it.

I think you just boiled it down pretty well, right there.

I do trust in the Pope, He is the Vicar of Christ, the Head of our Church. He holds the Chair of Peter, the first Pope of the Catholic Church.

The bile that spews from your pee brain is a prime example of what raises unjust questions about the character and the honesty of the Vicar of Christ.

Why don't you crawl back under the pile of dung that you came from. It is apparent that you are a Catholic hater, probably antisemitic also. Go home and shine your knee boots and continue your false hopes that the fourth Reich will rise again. Seig Heil!

Just....

wow......

I have no idea why so many who call themselves atheist seem to hate the religious so much.

I think people with fragile egos and/or polluted consciences feel the need to strike out against what they believe is the cause of their own personal pain. Instead of looking at the real cause, they find a victim to blame. The bigger the wounded ego or irksome conscience, the more vitriolic the attack against religion or those who hold to religion.

I just read the post of what the pope is now saying of reforming the un and his stance on a world governance...really rather shocked me. Most Americans want to get out of the UN not reform it. I expect one day some denomination or collection of will put their banner over the Un as well as other world agencies gearing up now for the grandest monetary takeover in the history of the world...and we thought Sept 08 was a big hit...that will be peanuts by comparison.
