And it is pure, unadulterated communism. It goes beyond socialism. It urges a confiscation of private property which is then given over to a "global authority."
Tossing in a few platitudes does not negate the obvious threat this encyclical poses to all freedom-loving men and women who desire to live in a free republic, and not in a commune.
Roman Catholics appear to have very little discernment when it comes to religion, politics and now, even common sense. If you want to live under a "global authority," then move to Finland or Cuba or Venezuela. As for me, I'll stay right here and try to protect the last vestiges of what was once the most noble and God-glorifying country in history.
He is not talking any of which you say...you might of read the encyclical but you have failed to comprehend what he is truly saying.
One last thing..Pope Benedict is calling for a REFORM of the UN etc...Every Catholic knows the UN holds many agendas contrary to the Catholic Church and has an anti-life agenda.
He says...
“In the face of the unrelenting growth of global interdependence, there is a strongly felt need, even in the midst of a global recession, FOR A REFORM OF THE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION and likewise of ECONOMIC INSTITUTIONS AND INTERNATIONAL FINANCE...
Pope Benedict is calling for a true family of diverse cultures, supporting one another in a spirit of solidarity, generosity and true freedom based on charity in truth and justice that upholds the common good. HE IS NOT CALLING FOR A SINGULAR POWER TO EXERCISE TOTAL CONTROL OVER EVERY ASPECT.
He says...
“IN ORDER NOT TO PRODUCE A DANGEROUS UNIVERSAL POWER OF TYRANNICAL NATURE, the goverance of globalization must be marked by SUBSIDIARITY, articulated into several layers and involving different levels that can work together. Globalization certainly requires authority, insofar as it poses the problem of a global common good that needs to be pursued. This authority, however must be organized in a subsidiary and stratified way, IF IT IS NOT TO INFRINGE UPON FREEDOM...”
WELL SAID.
Thx.
