Texas School Board District 10 - Know the Facts
Candidate's political mailing ^

Posted on 04/11/2010 11:47:06 AM PDT by RushingWater

There is a runoff for District 10 School Board election this Tuesday. Marsha Farney has sent out some rather slick mailings, the latest targeting her opponent. Below is just such an example of one where she compares her opponent to Obama. In fact, her own husband contributed $2300 to Obama's campaign while she sent out this ad trying to negate her opponent by being too alike Obama. Brian Russell is actually a genuine conservative and I find the tactics of Marsha Farney quite unbelievable - almost Democrat like if I may say it!

Marsha Farney's political mailing accusing her staunchly conservative opponent of being like Obama when her own husband contributed $2300 to the Obama campaign:

Brian Russell responds to these allegations here. District 10 extends from Austin to Houston to check it out - you could have a vote in the battle!

I’m always suspicious of candidates who run on attacking their opponents as opposed to stating where they stand and what they plan to do.

Let me clarify this is a Republican run-off election.

Thanks for posting this. I was about to do the same.

I smell the stench of a Sager Sliming. Hopefully, they won't get away with it.

Lie: Russell was involved in a physical skirmish after crashing a Republican Executive Committee meeting that led to an arrest by Austin Police.

Truth: I led a overwhelming public censure of former Travis Co. Republican Party Chairman Alan Sager in March 2004. Subsequently, I was the victim of an assault at an open public meeting of the Travis Co. Republican Party Executive Committee meeting. My assailant was the Sergeant-of-Arms appointed by Sager, who Farney is now using to compose her negative mail pieces and is touted on the latest one as one of Farney’s endorsers. Although I successfully later pressed charges against my assailant, no one (including my assailant) was arrested.

Here's an excerpt from a July 2, 2004 Statesman article:
____________________________________________
Russell said he wanted to film the meeting to document Sager's behavior, which he said included violating basic rules of parliamentary procedure in filling precinct chair vacancies.

Austin police Detective Robert Gross said Sager objected to the filming and asked him to remove the camera from the room. Russell complied but then returned for his camera bag, which was when the assault began, Gross said.

An affidavit said Runyan "jumped him from behind." Russell was in a choke hold, with his arm behind his back and was being wrestled through a set of doors when witnesses intervened.

Here's another doozy:

Lie: Brian Russell opposed Attorney General Greg Abbott's Child Protection Policies and Actions.

Truth: Brian authored the recent March 2010 Republican Party of Texas resolution commending the great work of Attorney General Greg Abbott.

Truth: Brian spoke for Texas Eagle Forum in opposition to bad bill SB 1440, which empowered CPS to violate parental rights, and asked Governor Perry to veto the bill. In response to the public outcry (and the request of the bill’s author to veto it), Gov. Perry vetoed SB1440. SB 1440 had nothing to do with Attorney General Greg Abbott or his child protection policies.

Here's is the VIDEO as well:

Gee it would be nice—I’m in district 25. Does the name Lloyd Doggett ring a bell?

in a loud clanging sort of way. Sorry.

Farney has money to burn if her husband can dish out $2300 to Obama for Operation Chaos. I've gotten 3 attack mailers from her in the last week and will likely see another on Monday.

Hopefully, she's turned off enough of her voters with her attacks.

I voted for Brian Russell in the primary, and I’ll vote for him in the runoff as well.

That’s quite astonishing - Brian was trying to uncover some shenanigans and was literally attacked - and Marsha Farney spins it in her ad like he was the problem!

I just got a robocall from Farney. The only problem that I had with it was that it came from Bill Ratliff who was the RINO that was chosen by the Texas Senate Democrats in a 16-15 vote for Lt. Governor when Perry became Governor. I guess she’s trying to reach her base.

I got a call for her from an outsourced calling firm overseas.

Nice to know her base is RINOs and outsourced labor. I dont think they vote in runoffs. LOL.

That is your congressional district..

this is SBOE district 10.

If you are north of the Colorado, you are in SBOE 10.

In any case, you need to vote in the runoff and decide between Workman and Turner for us.
