'Apparently I caused a problem'

President Obama Sunday seemed to shrug off the brouhaha after he broke with White House tradition and ditched his press pool earlier this weekend to watch one of his daughter’s soccer games.

Prior to Obama’s bilateral meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Obama told his colleague, “apparently I caused quite a problem," , adding something about his secretary not telling the Secret Service, according to, ironically enough, the pool report.

So...he was without SS protection?

Strange, that.

I still don't believe he left the WH or he was not there Saturday night and returned Sunday morning.

Emanuel knows....

Actually....we have soccer in the spring and fall at our local YMCA. My high school held soccer season in the spring. Not commenting on the current story just answering your question.

All Obama did was dodge the press pool.

From the article:

The Associated Press wrote that the surprise trip Saturday morning “quietly breached years of protocol” by leaving the White House without taking the press pool with him.

He didn't dodge the Secret Service. That bit in the article where it was reported, although not quoted, about not telling the Secret Service is just Obama being Obama. Creating controversy where otherwise none exists, and making himself the center of attention. His security was never compromised, although he wants you to believe otherwise. He craves the compassion that anyone is willing to give him for seemingly putting his family before his own security.

I don't fault him for loving his kids. I fault him for manipulating the event in an attempt to portray himself as one of us, which he isn't, no matter how hard he tries...

I tend to agree with little jeremiah. I don't think he knows how to be a father or what it means.

I remember reading a quote from him saying to the effect that, "Michelle and I have to look after our daughters".

It's an odd way of saying "raise our daughters" (that was the context). Almost as if he doesn't think they belong to him.

He's a complete narcissist. He can't even think about others except in how THEY think about HIM.

apparently I caused quite a problem

For a moment there, I thought that was what the Qatari diplomat said.

And he didn’t realize they weren’t with him?

>>Could you cite your reasons for thinking he is a good father?<<

Objectively look at how he has protected his kids from the press. And, he may be stupid (the dumbest POTUS ever), but his voice changes when he talks about his kids. His eyes change.

I know all POTUS’ have shielded their kids, but I see something there.

But I knew my post would draw this response.

A “dear, devoted, father” out to see his little girl play soccer would have been a hell of a photo opp for a President with low approval ratings, and I find it hard to believe that this narcissist in chief would have passed that one up.

Just sayin’

Not only that, but if he TRULY went to a soccer game (maybe they play for a league besides their school one?) he wants us to believe that NOT ONE PARENT there had a camera? Not 1 single person took a picture of him? They weren’t ready to comment that he was there? Because you know someone in the press wanted to track him down and surely htey could have found 1 parent with a photo or with a comment.

The whole story stinks to high heaven. He probably spent that hour with Larry Sinclair.

>>One poster already stated that there was no game that day, but even if that is wrong, how many fathers do you know that are as accomplished liars as obama?<<

Being a liar doesn’t mean he doesn’t love his kids. It just makes him scum.

I think lines are being crossed here that just don’t make sense. Ideology doesn’t create nor suppress paternal love.

He is a socialist. But I think he loves his kids.

JMO, I guess.

Who cares if he stiffs the press?

BTW, “dogpile” is a very good search engine.

Notice how he cannot even once take responsibility for his own f’ups ? Some secretary did it ! Or didn’t do

Typical behavior for a narcissist.

His voice changes? His eyes change?

You have a strong stomach. I cannot watch him or listen to him.

And Hitler was very kind to his dogs.

Not to compare children to dogs; just that evil men can be fond of a child or dog, and this sheds no good reflection on them.

Plus, in the photos I’ve seen with his wife and kids (I do look at photos, I don’t see any particular warmth.

Seems like there should be a celebrity web site or something where someone would have snapped a pic of our deer leader on the sidelines... Anyone?? Twitter maybe?

You are so correct in identifying him as a very evil man. His wife and kids are props in the horrible stage play he is unraveling for all to see. He is a narcissist.. he cares for his family only insofar as a narcissist is able.

"Apparently I caused a problem"

Yes you did....starting on January 20, 2009, right after you said "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Yes, you are over the top twice in one night.

Not quite sure why you are stalking me -- we don't have any history. And your post doesn't address my post at all. But if it pleases you...

Love means more than passing sentiment or a feeling of affection. It means dedication to the loved one’s wellbeing. Loyalty. The heart is given.

An evil man (or woman) cannot love. There may be some attachment (people can also be attached to objects or possessions too), or a feeling of sentiment, but real love is much more than that.

An evil person never feels love.
