The fundamentals say Republicans on track to retake the House
The Collins Report ^ | April 12, 2010 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

The cut and run stunt by Bart Stupak Friday underscored the fact that things are getting worse for the Democrats. Seeing an 18 year veteran who drew 65% in 2008 and was a sure thing, leave suddenly is a symptom of deep problems for the Democrats.

There are several fundamental reasons for conservative optimism as we look toward the November elections.

Historically mid term elections produce losses for the presidents party... [Clinton]’s lost 52 seat[s]... Reagan lost 26... the historic average. Senate losses average 3.4 seats in these elections.

.. Clinton had a 48% and Reagan a 42% Gallup approval rating.. at Election time Obama is already down to 45% ...

“It’s the economy stupid!?”

Gallup report[s] 19.9% of Americans are unemployed or under employed. ....Gallup’s “Economic confidence” rating is down sharply (-21) mean[ing] Democrats will get no help in improving their image from the Department of Labor.

The Enthusiasm gap

In 2006 and 2008 we saw the emergence of the “Broken glass” liberal voter, those who would crawl through broken glass to vote. That enthusiasm has moved to the conservatives.

The latest CNN poll shows 55% of Republicans are extremely or very enthusiastic about voting in November while just 36% of Democrats said the same. A Democrat professor commenting on these numbers added that Black turn out in a mid term election could not be expected to be near their 2008 levels.

Generic numbers

The latest Rasmussen generic poll shows Republicans holding a very strong generic ballot lead overall at 47/38, but of still more importance Rasmussen found that among Independents Republicans are up 46/26.

Intangibles

In 1994 and 2006 there [was]... the House Bank Scandal and Foley .... Obamacare which has continued to lose voter support... The Cap and Trade... Medicare/Medicaid cuts ( September and October)...

A new Gallup poll shows Democrats at a 41% approval which is the lowest Gallup has ever recorded for them. Tom Price is saying we can win about 56 seats.

This observation says you are right and Dems are frightened:

Congressional Progressive Caucus (Missing) from house.gov website.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2491052/posts

AND they have even expunged the pages from the WayBack Machine. Not a trace of the pages. Some frames still exist, but no data. And many of the entries are totally removed back to 2001.

The coackroaches are scurring from the light. But we must remember who they are. The Progressive list is posted on the link.

A Democrat professor commenting on these numbers added that Black turn out in a mid term election could not be expected to be near their 2008 levels.

In democrat strongholds in some "inner cities," enthusiasm is so low that only 110% of the registered voters will cast ballots this year.

If Bart runs, he loses. Now that he is not running, will a dem win? My concern is that certain districts would not vote for the current dem in power, but would vote for a fresh face dem.

Unless the Republicans can gain an overwhelming veto proof majority in Congress, I think it best that Democrats retain a majority in Congress by a single vote in both House's.

The reason being 2012 is too imporatant to not lose and since most of the Congressional damage has been done, let the Dem's own everything going into 2012.

It's a thought...I refer to our state with Arnold. I sure would rather have an out and out Dem at the helm than Dem Arnold/with/an/R so that maybe we could get a real conservative elected.

Our choices suck, to be frank!

Your thoughts are rather illogical. We may not be able to undo their mistakes today, much less two more years. We’ll win the presidency back, barring stupidity by the republicans. Let’s get congress and senate back as soon as possible.

Democrats are evil. Yes, you can quote me. Oh, I don’t doubt that many of them are nice people, sort of like Nancy Pelosi (h/t Coburn), but which party gets its power from playing up racial strife and class envy? It is an absolute travesty that 95% of ANY racial group would vote in lockstep for ANY party. I ask black Christians, what does the Bible say about greed, envy, and hatred?

Now some liberals no doubt will claim that we conservatives hate people based on race or economic status. I’m sure they can find a couple nut jobs on the right if they look hard enough, but I dare ANY liberal to attend an actual tea party and see if the MSM is accurately portraying what is going on! Don’t look for the exception, take a general measure of the quality of those attending.

You see, liberals, the tea partiers are actually trying to look out for ALL Americans. That INCLUDES the children of leftists. We don’t support racial animosity or the division of spoils to whichever party is in power. We support the fundamental rights of the US Constitution for all citizens to be free, to own the products of their labor. How did America get to be the most powerful nation in the world? It sure wasn’t by punishing the industrious.

Conservatives are the ones who truly believe in Martin Luther King’s call for a country where people are no longer judged by the color of their skin. We don’t showing favor to anyone based on race or economic status. Again, I ask black Christians to read the Bible where judges are admonished to show no favoritism at all, either to rich or poor. Showing favoritism, either to punish or reward someone merely for the possessions they own and not the quality of their case, is EVIL and it tears society apart.

I wish liberals would wise up and realize where envy-based wealth redistribution, an entitlement mentality, and racial animosity are leading this country. Seriously! You play to the evil within men and expect good things to happen? That’s insane! Even more so, we have hard evidence that this route leads to economic and cultural destruction, and that will bring grief to all of us but the poor even more than others! Take a hard look at every socialist country and you’ll see wealth redistribution only decreases the size of the pie for everyone. That is fact.

Wake up drones!

I agree, theres absolutely no guarantee Obama wil lose in 2012; we need to tie his hands up, legislatively, as soon as possible.

Some are intentionally evil,
some think they are working for themselves,
and some actually think they are working for good.

But all, whether they know it or not,
are working the bidding of their ideological father (John 8:42-44)

I have found also that “liberal Christians” (no such thing)
will abandon Christianity, or at least abandon the authority of God’s word,

before they’ll abandon their liberal worldview.

They’ll put more stock in 0bama’s word than in God’s Word.

MrB: “But all, whether they know it or not,
are working the bidding of their ideological father (John 8:42-44)”

42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me.

43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say.

44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

The Blacks are mostly Communists and want the wealth to be destributed in to their wallets. Because of Slavery 175 years ago. Why should they have to work for it?

The liberal concept of social justice is completely incompatible with Christianity. In fact, it is the antithesis of Christian thought.

Like I wrote before, social justice appeals to the dark side of man, not the light. I believe there is a great delusion in the world, because leftists seriously think they are creating utopia. In fact, they are only going to create a new dark age that will likely not end until Christ’s return.

I’m not saying they are going to succeed. Perhaps there will be an awakening for a time. We can hope. Otherwise, these evil people will bring grief to our children and theirs.

It HAS to be a delusion, because fact #1: this country is great and powerful and Americans live better than nearly everyone on the planet because we believe (believed?) in individual liberty, private property, and limited government and fact #2: everywhere socialism has been tried it brings less for everyone. Oh, the very poor will be taken care of (how terribly dehumanizing to be reliant on government for survival!!!), but the poor will never escape poverty in a socialist system.

Your thoughts are rather illogical.

What happens if the Republicans own Congress in 2011, the 2012 presidential campaign is well underway, tax revenues are still down, the Stimulus money runs out and public employees galore are set to be furloughed? What will the republicans do?

There are plenty of leftist black “Christians” so I wonder how they equate forcible redistribution of wealth (stealing), killing the unborn (murder), and race or economic-based favoritism with Biblical principles.

Oh, I’m sure they could take a scripture or two out of context to support some of these things, but these things are definitely not from Christ. Again, I dare any of them to refute it.

Voluntary charity (from the heart, not government mandate), equal treatment for all regardless of social status, wealth, and race, respect for private property, the rule of law, love and respect for human life—these are Christian concepts!

Leftists would not tolerate it if someone treated them like they treat others. Can you imagine the outcry if a black was denied a government scholarship because of their race? My son was. Can you imagine the outcry if a judge ruled against a leftist-owned business, not on the merits of the case, but simply because the plaintiff needed some cash?

Well, that’s exactly the kind of government the leftists are trying so hard to create.
