Absence of key U.S. allies at summit amplifies doubts about Obama’s foreign policy

President Obama is holding one of the biggest global summits ever on U.S. soil starting Monday, but for all the hoopla, the event will be missing America’s strongest allies.

As remarkable as it is, the fact that neither British Prime Minister Gordon Brown nor Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are attending President Obama’s nuclear security summit in Washington Monday and Tuesday is not altogether surprising.

Relations with both countries — Israel in particular — have grown strained under Obama. Combined with Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s recent defiance of the administration, questions are growing about the president’s ability to maintain important relationships.

“It is a curious state of affairs when relations with our major democratic allies are all wobbly at once,” said Michael Green, a former foreign policy adviser to President George W. Bush, who also listed Japan and South Korea as traditional allies whose relationships with the U.S. have frayed under Obama.

“And one has to ask why righting these key alliances has not received more attention,” he said.

Clearly Obama has a different understanding of “ally” from the author’s.

At least Iran, Cuba, Russia and Venezuela still LOVE us.

“And one has to ask why righting these key alliances has not received more attention"

Probably because he wants them to fail, IMO.

What doubt about Obama’s foreign policy. I have no doubt in my head what-so-ever...his foreign policy is a failure without a doubt.

It's abundantly clear that obama commands no respect from the world.

He is still "community organizing", which means he's handing out goodies to the moocher class of the world, and they pretend to be his "friend"...same as the US Voters.

He just can't get past the old days with meetings with crowds of chia pets in Chicago where he could whip them up into a frenzy with tales of free money and lifelong reparations and support.

He's a "one trick pony", and he's used it too many times for it to be effective anymore.

He’s offended every nation that once supported us. He’s sucked up to every nation that wants to *hit on us. And despite sucking up to them, they still want to *hit on us.

Why do I get the feeling his little nuclear party will be a disaster?

I’ve been saying all along that Obie is a diplomatic disaster, but the American media still insists that he’s loved in other countries.

What's this? Obama has a Foreign Policy problem? Some 50% of Americans voted for this fraud....what did they miss or thought they wanted? Obama has no foreign policy just a new approach to our old enemies and those who were once our friends and Allys.

The enemy is in the White House - friend to all terrorists, Marxists, Union Members, special interest, community organizers, and members of the Media. 50% of dumbed down Americans, rock concert groupies and useful idiots voted this fraud in....may G-d have mercy on us all.

Under obama, Irael and the UK are no longer America’s allies.

Under obama they, like patriotic Americans, have became Amerika’s enemies.

Our allies are more wary, and our enemies are bore belligerent. What part of this do the mainstream media consider a success?

"President Obama is holding one of the biggest global summits ever on U.S. soil starting Monday, but for all the hoopla, the event will be missing America’s strongest allies"

We no longer have strong allies that we can rely on to accept our leadership. We are on our own. Everyone for themselves.

Obama alienates America’s true friends while kowtowing to those countries that would see us destroyed. Friend and foe alike do, however, agree on one thing; Obama is a child in a dangerous and unforgiving world.
