The numbers are small. A modern record, to be sure, and an embarrassment to some. But nothing to be alarmed about. Better to just curse their greed, slap an exit tax on their assets, and move on. There are plenty more where they came from.

I would love to go to the High Tatry region in Poland or Slovakia. Czech Republic would be high on my list as well.

are you going to become an RV warrior? I hear the flock is growing and spends its time in migration from one glorious spot in nature to another, following the seasons.

The average age of the flock is getting a lot younger, too.

0bama wants to create an economic Berlin Wall and prevent capital flow out of the country.

You don't think the Republicans want that too?

If you are a US citizen and leave the US, you are subject to income taxes for 10 (?) years. You must pay your taxes regardless of where you live, where you make money, and where you park your money.

I think that that whole direction for the discussion is stupid.

What are they gonna do? Open SEIU and goon squads in every foreign country to "get you?"

One of the recently passed Obamanable bills (pardon me if I can’t keep all the details of all the insanities straight) withholds 30% of all exported monies for presumptive tax purposes. Ergo, you can’t move your money out of the country.

My theory: cash it in. Buy real estate & valuables & durable goods & stable consumables; no more virtual-money investments, little identifiable as taxable. No “investments”, no debt, an untaxable cypher.

Heh. I’m reminded of some movie wherein the likable bad guy was crazy wealthy yet did not stand out; looking like just some geezer with an old cane, turned out that cane was Charlie Chaplin’s trademark cane worth a small fortune.

Jim Rogers went to Singapore, to kick back and let his kids learn Mandarin for their future.

I believe he kept his US citizenship, though I wonder for how long.

There isn't anything racist about my observations in the area where I live. Most of the heifers I'm talking about are white. I say heifers because they are breeders for one thing only.

The lady that had the Escalade happened to be black, but the worst examples of this, e.g., the ones that brag about how many kids they 'look after' etc. were white. This wholesale leeching thing TRANSCENDs race and ethnicity. It is a devolution of the human soul and a surrender to Satan's temptations. There isn't any plainer way to say that in my opinion.

he he he

Ask the South Africans how to get your money out of a repressive country. Some of them built luxurious boats, sailed them out, then sold the boats

Enterprising people will ALWAYS find a way

Some of them are going to the Caymans. Since the U.S. taxes the money U.S. citizens make abroad, some rich people are renouncing their citizenship.

Why, build a wall or a fence or something like that.

What a stroke of genius!

All of us who have worked 40-50 years to support the parasites of society at both ends of the economic spectrum can threaten to leave via the southern border.

The damned wall will be built in 6 months...

The question is WHERE TO ?

I have researched this at some length. Argentina looks pretty good. Chile isn't terribly awful.

Australia and New Zealand have both succumbed to leftist nanny-state ideals.

Poland looks pretty good as well. Even Russia under Putin appears to be better than where America is headed. Imagine that!

The answer is “obvious” to any commie-pinko fellow traveler.

You have a 99% “exit” tax.

It is tempting. I think I’ll just stay where I’m at. I have traveled enough for my life, I am just plain tired to tell you the truth. It just isn’t worth it anymore to work to help pay for all this.

3) Not sure how safe the country is in terms of crime compared to here.

Crime seems to be illegal there, unlike here.

It’s prison break mentality. What can you live on for the next 10 years? If you’ve sold your assets and moved to your next port of call, can you live off barter, pay your living expenses for 10 years ahead? You may see my point.
Be a wealth camel.

“After Obama is gone, they’ll be home”

Maybe the ones renouncing their citizenship know something the rest of us suspect but cannot bring ourselves to accept
