The numbers are small. A modern record, to be sure, and an embarrassment to some. But nothing to be alarmed about. Better to just curse their greed, slap an exit tax on their assets, and move on. There are plenty more where they came from.

What do we do when the rich decide to go into hiding in the USA?

Why leave? Many could coast for a very long time and not draw attention to themselves and drop off the targeted list. Convert wealth to land, gold. Stop worrying about beating the markets, capital gains, interest income, “unearned income” as Pelosi puts it. Get rid of the rental income.

Start new businesses designed not to make money, not to employ people, but to get to zero capital gains, zero income taxes.

A large percentage of Americans have been convinced that the wealthy are evil and greedy. Let Americans do without their creativity and investments.

Hong Kong and Singapore are both economically freer than the U.S.

Why that shouldn’t be a problem. Look how well New York, New Jersey, Kalifornia and Michigan are doing!!! Blacks, Mexicans and liberals make for a WINNING combination!!!!

It's a case of --- you don't like our policies ? Tough Duck, live with it. You're stuck here in the greatest nation on God's green earth anyway.

So far everything said leads me to believe that we are just about captive slaves and headed for full blown communism. Right, greatest nation on earth, hold your breath. Freedom is on the way out. Better wake up, you are living in the past.

Switzerland has been a favorite destination for the past 60 years; my daughter is moving there in May, most likely never to return and she’s anything but rich.

One of the things most don’t realize is that this emigration, (out flow) isn’t limited to the wealthy because if a person is smart enough to figure out how to work grants, loans, and scholarships, that person can live on foriegn study grants as a perpetual student for 20 years. I learned about that from a co-worker who’s daughter did so, traveling the world, for 20 years; she finally married a Scottish professor.

True. Not yet. It will be soon if we do not evict Obama and the Marxists from government. Ameridcan free enterprise should be liberated from all the layers of government.

Most of us middle class look at the world through our world view. The exit of those rich enough to cause us economic harm don’t have to worry about where to go. There are any number of countries who will sell them citizenship since they will not be an economic burden on their welfare state, hospitals or schools. They can spread their wealth (investments) around the world. Few countries try to tax worldwide income like the USA. Any number of countries will let people live there for extended periods as long as they don’t try to work.

America needs to wake up before capital starts to flee. It can happen in a big way. Recent immigrants who might still be middle class can start sending their capital to relatives in other countries. And there is the old fashioned way of converting assets to gold, silver and precious gems and burying them in the backyard.

Viet Nam is SCREAMING for big-monied tourism. The Coast is right up there with the French Riviera. So warm, so sunny, so many BEAUTIFUL girls...

Work through your state legislatures.
It’s the last peaceful resolution to the enslavement vs liberty battle in this country.

Or else nothing if you stay overseas. Come back to the US to visit your relatives and they can arrest you for tax evasion.

I'll bring my relatives with me, problem solved.

Various South American and Carrabean countries.

You have never spent enough time there to really know those places, have you.

You could create an armed camp right where you live.

If you will need to stand and fight, eventually, where would you rather do it?

Thank you. I appreciate the sentiment. I hope some of it went to support our troops. Most of the time I get so disillusioned when I’m behind some heifer in WalMart with a cart full of junk food, three or four welfare golden geese (i.e., babies/children, pulling out an EBT card and walking off with the booty scot free. I even had to suffer through one of them last week bragging about how many children she ‘looked after’.......

Most countries are doing WORSE than the USA economy-wise.

If the USA rich leave here and settle "over there", the receiving country's economy will skyrocket.

I’m with you!
The fact that ‘I’ was the biggest fool makes me the angriest.
As a small business owner, I will no longer assume the personal risks necessary to generate income. Now that the rewards are on the same level as regular employee compensation, it doesn’t pay to be in charge. I expect a better return on my investment.

I have heard that Switzerland is willing to negotiate a mutally agreeable tax rate for rich immigrants. They would rather get 5% of their income as Swiss citizens than nothing as just visitors. Even that 5% is vastly more than Switzerland would spend on services for them so it is just about pure profit for the government.
