The Rochester school district says that a teacher's use of his school e-mail account to send a message urging staff to join a counter-rally against Thursday's Tea Party Patriots rally violated the district's e-mail policy.
"The District considers an e-mail message that was sent out by a District employee on Friday, April 9, 2010, an inappropriate use of District e-mail. In compliance with the District policy, all personnel issues will remain confidential and the District will take appropriate action according to our policies," according to a statement released Monday by the district.
The teacher sent an e-mail to other teachers on Friday that told them to attend the counter-rally "if you are interested in combating the lies and ignorance of the Tea Party Movement." The employee said he would have an air horn and extra signs available for protesting.
The teacher has not returned a call from the Post-Bulletin for comment.
The district e-mail policy states that the system has a "limited educational purpose" and that "users are expected to use Internet access through the District system to further educational and personal goals consistent with the mission of the school district and school policies." Unacceptable uses include using the system to "knowingly or recklessly post, transmit or distribute false or defamatory information about a person or organization." The policy doesn't specifically prohibit sending political messages.
The policy lists possible disciplinary actions for violations, including suspension or cancellation of Internet privileges and termination.

Is this the Minnesota story?
Let me guess, not a firing offense.
Promotion forthcoming, no doubt. ‘Eff up, move up.
Dude has apparently not heard of Hotmail. What a maroon.
Demand his immediate termination. Politicking on the taxpayer dime would get any conservative fired anywhere in the country. Let him spend his days protesting, see what that gets him

What is with these “Counter Tea Party” people?
So they want even higher Taxes, Less freedom and more oppressive government?
Can we just say that they proud Communist and supporters of fascism?
I am amazed that so many of our neighbors are such absolute outspoken and admitted Morons.
Liberals gotta equalize the odds some way. Life in the marketplace of ideas is so unfair for Social Democrats; they've got nothing anyone wants to hear. What effect can a bedraggled knot of liberals without air horns have on a crowd of thousands of Tea Party ralliers?

Yes, Minnesota, but you probably know that by now, sorry so slow getting back. I can just imagine some of my old school teachers protesting the inevitable, getting weened off government money. Collectively, we’re broke and can’t afford everything people want. Thanks Democrats!
I figured it out by looking at the title again. lol
