An amateur video - looks like the author appeared at the crash site before the rescuers and security service.

Take a look especially at 57 sec., and later. I can hear several gunhots, pretty clearly.

Sounds like gunshots, but could have been a number of explanations, such as ammunition from dead Polish security personnel exploding in the heat.

The fires would tend to clear the fog at ground level to a good degree. Hard to say what conditions were like at the time of impact.

Definitely sounded like pistol shots. That wasn’t ammunition cooking off, the sound was different. What caught my attention is after the shots, the spectator in front of the camera man started moving away... “I didn’t see nuthin” kind of shuffling away.

Sounded like pistol shots to me too, but maybe they were just warning the other people away to preserve the evidence at the crash site? That would make sense if the comments that lizol posted in #16 are correct:

Could be but the shooter would have to be there waiting for the plane to crash. Besides, the autopsies would reveal what happened.

Those sounds could have been various compressed air containers going off such as fire bottles, hydraulic accumulators etc.

Recording is indeed strange.
First - no voices, camera approaching wrackage. Then 1 shot. Voice (presumably of a cameraman) - WTF.
Then shortly a voice in the background ordering to attack (?!) 2 more shots.
Another WTF from a cameraman as he starts to move away.
One more shot and the voice in the background ordering to withdraw.

My Russian is a bit rusty but that is what I thought was being said as well.

As for the response time... I can’t comment on that. It totally depends on a lot of factors that we simply don’t have the information for.

Most of a concern for me - the voice that orders after the shots were fired. In Russian it is: Все назад! Уходим! Literally - “Everyone - go back! Leave the place!”. It’s an order to withdrow.

If they were truly rounds just cooking off, or some other items exploding, then an order to WITHDRAW would make the most sense.
