The tea party, civil rights and racism
Examiner.com ^ | 4-13-2010 | Dianna Cotter

When people think of “Civil Rights” the first thing to come to mind is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Rightly so, this man of God was a brilliant and eloquent advocate for concepts first enshrined by our Founding Fathers. His words echo through time and history. Dr. King believed in the inherent qualities of man before looking at his skin color. These are true and real beliefs held by conservatives across the nation. “I have a dream,” he cried, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

It is nothing short of staggering, that those on the left who claim to be the champions of down trodden minorities (Black and Hispanic Americans), could so viciously and unjustly accuse the right of racism as it has been doing with such astounding venom in the past year. ‘all we see are images of white tea partiers, “they must be racists!”’ is their cry.

This is categorically false. While there are racists left in America, by and large they are not found in the tea party. Conservative Black leaders are not only welcomed, they are welcomed as kindred spirits, brothers and sisters, fellow Americans.

Another debate about how often tea partiers beat their wives. No point in participating.

I believe this whole drama is orchestrated from the White House using politically reliable members of the news media and some of the more blatant buffoons in Congress. Democrats are trying to push politics back to times when racism was a driving force.

Its immoral.

I think we’re pretty much past the point of having an honest debate with a “progressive”. They’re either insidious, deranged, or both.

I agree. Thats why its time to take the kid gloves off and fight them. But first we will NAME them.

Excellent piece. Nails it, nails, and nails it again.

Too many money quotes to choose just one.

This is a piece I wish I wrote.

“I think we’re pretty much past the point of having an honest debate with a “progressive”. They’re either insidious, deranged, or both.”

You left out totally devoid of truth, deliberately misleading, and incapable of accuracy.

Speaking of racist, political extremists...

"Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal".--James (Jim) Cone,
African American Religious Thought: An Anthology (Paperback)
by Cornel West (Editor), Eddie S. Glaude Jr. (Editor)

SEAN HANNITY: But Reverend Jeremiah Wright is not backing down and has not for years and in his strong stance on the teaching of black liberation theology is nothing new. He had the same things to say last spring when he appeared on "Hannity & Colmes:"

WRIGHT: If you're not going to talk about theology in context, if you're not going to talk about liberation theology that came out of the '60s, systematized black liberation theology that started with Jim Cone in 1968 and the writings of Cone and the writings of Dwight Hopkins and the writings of womynist theologians and Asian theologians and Hispanic theologians, then you can't talk about the black value system.

HANNITY: But I'm a — reverend

WRIGHT: Do you know liberation theology, sir?

And every one of them who accuses another fellow American, concered about AMERICA a racist, IS nothing other than a racist themselves.

A racist uses RACE as a means to an end.

Thats it.
Afirmative action - Racist.
Tea party is racist - racist
Conservatives with African herritage at tea parties are oreo’s, uncle toms, blablabla - RACIST.

Yep, they are showing their TRUE colors progressives are.

Progressivism is about progressing the welfare of those running the show and SCREWING everyone else, including their supporters.

I am done being nice about it. Its time to turn the the plow blade into a scythe.

Incidently, I think it makes more sense to call out the RINOs and more importantly their base of support than to play the same old games that “progressives” love to play.

Good to know you’ve figured that out. Even after you’ve proven that conservative target A cannot be racist, the left will proceed to conservative target B and start screaming (or audibly whispering) that he’s a racist. Progressives are vagrants, gypsies, snake oil salesmen. You can run them out of town but they’ll come back sooner or later.

It is a tribute to the power of repetition that the Party of Slavery, Segregation, Race Preferences, Black Abortion has succeeded in painting the Party of Abolition, Integration, Race Neutrality, and Resistance to Murder as anti-Black.
