Juan’s comment about corporations is misleading ... many are S-Corps whose profits pass through to the individual. Other Corps are not-for-profit. Finally, remember that the higher income folks pay the bulk of the taxes as well as provide the bulk of the jobs. Raising taxes in a recession has never been a winning proposition. It’s spending that needs to be cut, and drastically so.

Thanks for shedding some light on this. I've been wondering for quite some time what this claim "1/2 the corporations in America don't pay any taxes..." is based on. I hear it quite often, and really haven't heard a good response to it.
It always made me scratch my head a bit, I run a small "C" corp and we always pay taxes in profitable years, as a matter of fact, we always have to pay State Corporate Taxes even if we have NO profit!
