Sen. Bunning endorses Rand Paul over his own 'protege'
The Hill ^ | 04/14/2010 | Aaron Blake

Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) is leaving the Senate, but he's not going quietly.

Bunning on Wednesday announced that he will support Rand Paul in the GOP primary to take his seat. The move will be seen as a direct affront to the state's other senator, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), and the candidate he is more closely tied to, Secretary of State Trey Grayson.

“Kentucky needs a conservative who will say no to bailouts, stop the government takeover of our economy, end wasteful spending, and bring down our national debt," Bunning said. "And Kentucky’s families need a conservative who believes in traditional values and the rights of the unborn. In 2010, there is only one such conservative running for the United States Senate -- Dr. Rand Paul."

Be careful. You are making too much logical sense. They will summon several others to this thread, and spread more lies.

So, let's toss Grayson over in favor of a guy whose core supporters believe 9/11 was an inside job and makes common cause with traitors like Adam Kokesh ? Righteous anger is one thing, blind rage is quite another. I will not support the latter, because that, sir, is utterly reprehensible to the republic.

SMASHING GOOD NEWS!!!

"I am proud to support great grassroots candidates like Dr. Paul....
Because he’s a federalist and he wants the states to have more say --
and as we respect the 10th Amendment in our Constitution,
he wants the states to have more say in a lot of these issues."

If Junior manages to buy the nomination

The primary opposition has raised just as much money, from folks like the AIG lobbyists.

do not expect me to rubber-stamp

Just honestly enjoy the fruits after the election.

I know what it takes to stand up for the conservative principles that are needed to make America a better place for our children and grandchildren. Dr. Paul shares those same core values. Dr. Paul has the courage and conviction necessary to make sure the voices of Kentucky’s

are heard in Washington.

That is why I am supporting Dr. Paul

Our next United States Senator from Kentucky.

"The primary opposition has raised just as much money"

Grayson hasn't raised big $$ from Truthers and Adam Kokesh types like Junior Paul.

"Just honestly enjoy the fruits after the election."

You mean "nuts." Forget it.

I’m all in for Herman Cain in 2012.

That said, I’ll be more than willing to defend American interests against “nutters” any time of the day.

Adam Koresch and the trutherzoids have only made in-roads because Americans have jobs between elections. Hershey bar politicians gain ground when nobody is looking.

Leftists phony up and run as Conservatives. See Webb, and others, in 2008.

Rand Paul may have fooled some politicos but Rand Paul’s association with Koresch is pond scum territory. That’s my take.

I view Paul types as either astroturf or 38 yr-old children, no offence intended for indoor stadiums.

I will never forget Koresch’s VoteVet sham. His votevet organ is still posting most vile innuendo on video comtent sites at EweTube.

If I we’re 4’11”, I could reduce Koresch to a steaming pile in under a minute. All I’d need to do is compliment his pretty pink panties.

If Rand Paul is anything like his father, I figure him for a phony conservative.

I haven’t always agreed with you, fieldmarshalj. I must have been stoopid. This Rand Paul business represents some of the scale and character of the problem facing Republicans in 2010.

Seen the list of Ron Paul earmarks? There ought to be a screening process to remove miscreants.

Q. WHY IS THE PAUL PARADE POSTING PRE-PACKAGED PLEDGES, rather than discussing the oddities of political association. Koresch is closely associated with DailyKos founder and all around putz, what’s his name?

Sarah Palin got off to a bad start in national politics because J C McCain has her bamboozled. She made another boozle, apparently, supporting McPaul.

I know how much America is in debt. Doesn’t mean I want the Fed’s books open to the world at-large.

Mongiardo ran against Bunning last time. He nearly won after Bunning called him a “limp wrist” or somesuch. (Which he is)

However Conway was always gonna win this primary.

He’s more liberal but definitely a superior politician.

Bullcrap. Sen. Bunning’s endorsement is nothing but sour grapes because he’s still steaming pissed at being pressured into retiring before he wanted to go. A sad and classless way to end his career by endorsing a Truther-supported extremist and tool of anti-American traitors like Adam Kokesh.

Well, you said that someone would smear Bunning.

"If Jim Bunning himself decided to run for reelection, you guys would be smearing him as a “liberal” or “fill-in-the-blank” simply because he stood in the way of the Paul movement. "

What always irritates me is when I get accused of supporting liberal or “establishment” candidates. I like to support outside-the-box types that want to shake things up, but where I draw the line are with individuals that send up warning flags for whom could be quite devastating to our side and cause. I’ve said many times that the Pauls and their supporters are simply in the wrong party, they need to be running as Libertarians. Let us Republicans nominate Conservative reformers untainted by the crazy links, and let the Libertarians run their own guys. The problem is the latter doesn’t want to do it, because they can’t get more than a couple of points in the general, so they infiltrate our party and either play down or lie about their positions and links. Either way, nothing respectable or intellectually honest about their actions.

Also, notice that Grayson is now attacking Sarah Palin. Another huge mistake.

Just like a spoiled brat trust fund kid would do. Go Rand.

Hey, I just saw Rand Paul and Bill Johnson at the Louisville Tea Party. They were both fantastic. From the crowd, during his speech, I loudly encouraged Bill to run for Governor and he chuckled amidst the cheers and said "it's not out of the question".

I hope he gets in early!

I'll support him.
