We should demand action against this violence or there is going to be more and more attacks and intimidation with the tacit approval of Obama and other socialists. Sooner or later, someone on the right (Tea Party member) will stop the clock for some attacker. Then, oh then....

Cant seem to find any information on legal action....Are charges being filed? They have no suspects in custody yet. When you consider the corruption/incompetence that is the NOPD, one has to despair that every there will be. See my commentary on that very subject.
Is NOPD Fit to Investigate French Qtr Assault?

Oh settle down... the victims(or at least the mother) dont want this seen as being political so stop pushing it...
You wouldn't happen to work for the mainstream media, would you? Or maybe the DNC?

I would say so. When a woman is down and one of the perps stomps on her leg and breaks it, I would have to say that qualifies.

It is certainly to the advantage of the business community and city fathers in New Orleans to expose this attack as the political attack that it appears to be.
There are just 2 alternatives, this is a political attack or it’s just a typical street crime event in NOLA.
The second is a lot more devastating to the French quarter community that relies on tourism and encourages people from all over to drink and become vulnerable in the area.

That doesn’t mean they don’t have a good bead on who the perps are, now does it? I would be surprised if they didn’t know and are collecting enough evidence to get warrants.
Do the victims have any say on this issue? Can they file charges?

I think New Orleans long ago gave up trying to keep the French Quarter safe. So they instead decided to market the danger as a sort of "adventure" for tourists and claim that it adds "flavor" to the experience.
To satisfy the blood lust in all of us, I suppose...

Do the victims have any say on this issue? Can they file charges? The woman is still in the hospital, I think. She's not quite up to doing detective work just yet. If you'll research all the threads on this subject, you'll see pics and videos of many likely suspects. I daresay we FReepers are miles ahead of the NOPD in working the investigation.

This is an excellent point that should be driven home to the powers that be in NOLA.
Any ideas on how to make that happen?

I’m not talking about the victims doing an invesitgation - by ‘they’ I meant the police, who generally keep information close because they don’t want the perpetrators bolting from the city.
In some locales the police can file charges against suspects without the victims being involved but there I don’t know how it is done, in New Orleans.

That will bring martial law. The tea party will be outlawed as a criminal danger.
We are in very deep water on an open sea with the mother of all storms brewing.

What the heck is wrong with Malkin? Why can’t she put two and two together? Why is the GOP itself silent? They must know who did this, in a general way: anarchists, who are leftists by and large, or at least ant-GOP.

Read the article this morning in the Times-Picayune upthread. The oafs at the NOPD didn’t get around to classifying the thing as an assault until Monday when they did the police report.
The NOPD ain’t exactly CSI-grade investigators.

This is an excellent point that should be driven home to the powers that be in NOLA. Any ideas on how to make that happen? By continuing to report, investigate, blog, tweet and link. The story is now on the front page of the New Orleans Times-Picayune and has made it to Fox News. It took us all week to get it done, but we did. We just have to keep pushing it.

One poster earlier this week attributed it to a kind of half-assed "battered wife syndrome" on the part of some on our side. I think he has a point.
