Wednesday, Lori Ziganto (one of my favorite bloggers) wrote a brilliant piece in response to an article Jessica Valenti wrote on Feministing. Another Feministing author, Lori, had heard about the ad campaign called “Abortion Changes You” last month that was putting ads on the New York subway (snip) Considering feminists cannot abide anything that might paint abortion in a negative light, this made Lori VERY angry. She explained that somehow, this ignores the experiences and reactions women have had with and from abortion.

I agree with the writer, but this bothered me a bit:

It is a 100% lead-pipe cinch it will NOT happen if you don’t have sex out of wedlock.
I wonder if she would also say that “college is totally worth killing that woman that’s going to accuse me of date rape on Monday”?? A lot of young men could find their college years a lot more productive if they use her logic.
From the sound of it, I think they probably misquoted Lori.

I’ll bet what she said was: “College Is, Like, Totally Worth Killing Babies Over.”

Then “Jane Roe” should have fought for anti-discrimination laws. This “Jane Roe” seems to me a major idiot to me.
And, guess what? "Jane Roe" was NEVER pregnant. Someone got hold of her, and the scam was on. NOW, she's extremely anti-abortion, a Catholic, AND is fighting to overturn Roe vs. Wade. SHE realized the error of her ways.

Birth control does not always work, but I do think it works better than the unplanned pregnancy numbers we see so I am with you that it does not make sense.
