Government Informant: Delta Force Involved In Waco Shoot-Out (1999)
http://www.mcsm.org/waco14.html ^ | September 6, 1999

Posted on 04/19/2010 6:06:14 PM PDT by Sybeck1

September 6, 1999

WASHINGTON--A former government officer has told investigators that members of the secret Army unit Delta Force said they participated in a shoot-out during the final assault on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

The witness, according to congressional sources, has already named names; and will soon offer his account under oath!

The development caused panic and confusion at the top levels of the Justice Department and the FBI over the holiday weekend, leaving one top official scrambling for details.

FBI Director Freeh has demanded a full briefing, one agency source divulged late Monday.

Developing...

Meanwhile, congressional investigators are growing convinced that infrared film taken by an FBI surveillance aircraft at 9,000 feet on the final day of the Waco standoff does appear to show U.S. armed forces firing into the church compound.

"We are looking at the footage frame-by-frame... most of us have grown convinced that it does show snipers unloading from the rear of a tank," an investigator for the House Government Reform Committee told the DRUDGE REPORT.

Former FBI agent Richard Schwein, a supervisor at Waco, said charges of government gunfire were "absolutely false."

"False, absolutely false," he said on FOX NEWS SUNDAY. "No FBI agent fired any rounds from their weapons at Waco. There were no Delta Forces or special operations soldiers in an operational capacity at Waco." "And everyone on our side, and the FBI's side, were in armored vehicles, so I don't know how you'd have films of anybody firing into the back of the building. No one was on foot, because we had no body armor that would stop the rounds they were firing."

WAIVER WONDER

Use of active military personnel against civilians without presidential decree is a violation of federal law.

Late last month White House spokesman Joe Lockhart first told reporters that he had no information on the waiver issue.

[August 26, 1999; Thursday]

Q Joe, why was the Army's Delta Force present on the scene the day that Waco burned?

MR. LOCKHART: I would refer you to the Justice Department. I don't have information on the Delta Force one way or the other.

Q The reason I asked is because since the law prohibits the military being used against civilians, I wondered whether the White House either, A, requested it or, B, President Clinton signed a waiver for it.

MR. LOCKHART: I don't have any information on that. Again, I'd refer you to Justice. I don't have any independent information on their role, if any.

The next day, when asked again about any possible waiver, Lockhart offered more details.

[August 27, 1999; Friday]

Q What did the White House know about the potential operational involvement of Delta Force in the Waco siege?

MR. LOCKHART: I think that's an issue that was dealt with at the time. And as we said yesterday, the president was not asked to sign a waiver, nor were we aware of any activity that would have required a waiver. But, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, Lockhart may still not have the full story.

One witness has told congressional investigators that in April of 1993, in response to a press inquiry, a White House spokesman stated privately that a "waiver is on the president's desk that would have authorized military intervention.

A development that will cause battle during fresh rounds of congressional hearings.

Which government official or covert agent forced David Koresh to walk up to multitudes of parents in his cult and say, “to prove your faith, you must let me screw your 13-year-old daughter.”? Remind me.

Even in hind sight it is still hard to believe that in my country, men, women and children were executed for basically following a religious belief not sanctioned by the government. While I personally think Koresh was a screwball, the constitution gave him the right to be one, and, in light of the government’s actions in dealing with him, and his followers, every free man and woman needs to reflect on what might lie in our immediate future should our leaders decide to use military might to tame us.

“Ms. Bunds also told me that Howell had fathered at least fifteen (15) children with various women and young girls at the compound. Some of the girls who had babies fathered by Howell were as young as 12 years old. She had personally delivered seven (7) of these children.

According to Ms. Bunds, Howell annuls all marriages of couples who join his cult. He then has exclusive sexual access to the women. He also, according to Ms. Bunds, has regular sexual relations with young girls there. The girls’ ages are from eleven (11) years old to adulthood.”

Joyce Sparks, Children’s Protective Services Investigations supervisor, Waco, interviewed a young girl, a former compound resident, on February 22, 1993:
“[She] entered the cult when she was about three or four years old. . . .

We asked her if she could think of any reason that any of the children at the compound would not be safe and as we got into this discussion, she brought up the topic of sexual abuse. She described herself as special and treated differently than other children. She talked about spending time alone with David and although this was ‘scary’ she felt ‘privileged.’

She explained to us that on one occasion, when she was ten years old, her mother left her in a motel room with David Koresh. He was in bed and he told [her] to come over to him. She got into the bed. David had no pants on. He took off her panties and touched her and then got on top of her. . . .

We talked about how she was feeling when this happened and she responded . . . ‘scared.’ When asked what else she felt, she responded . . . ‘privileged.’ When asked what David would do if he knew she was telling us about this, [she] rolled her eyes and said . . . ‘I wouldn’t even want to think about it.’

We asked if she knew about any other girls who had experienced this and she said yes. She reported that she knew about Michelle Jones. When asked how she knew this, she explained that David had talked about having sex with Michelle when she was fourteen. He told in a Bible study once what it was like when he had sex with Michelle.”

Michelle Jones died inside the compound on April 19, 1993.

If Delta was involved, this is truly heartbreaking news. The US federal government’s Waco “intervention” smelled from the very beginning until the horrible horrible end. But I thought the DOD was relatively untainted in that fiasco.

In fact, I can trace my current depression, resignation and contempt for many agencies of the federal government, most especially the FBI and the ATF to that atrocity — and it WAS an atrocity.

The missing evidence, the spoiled evidence, the lies... They all counted...

But the SINGLE most important factor that proved conclusively to me that the government agencies were lying and covering up was the haste in which the entire compound area was bulldozed to prevent any event reconstruction of forensic analysis.

Strawman argument. Rule of law should have prevailed. Koresh was innocent until proven guilty, yet was exocuted by Clintoon and Reno, along with many innocent people. The discussion here is not what Koresh did, but how badly our own government reacted. Step out of line with Zero's government and you or I could be next to suffer the same fate . . .

Murder by government, on television, to inspire fear.

DOD was involved from the beginning and anyone paying any attention knew it. The armor was from Ft Hood. DOes anyone think the Texas Highway patrol has armor? There were folks in Army unifrom coming and going that were filmed. There were helicoptors with US Army markings. I could go on but you get the point. The place was dripping with DOD personnel. It was a flagrant violation of Posse Comitatus and we all knew it in real time. Oh, but it was OK because BJ had a “waiver”. I see.

What rounds of ammo are known to have been used by any of the government agencies (DoD, FBI, Man from Uncle, SPECTER, whoever...) on site at Waco the day of the fire?

What propellant is used in these rounds?

What is the IR emission spectrum of these rounds (as seen from the muzzle) when they are fired?

What is the IR spectrum of sunlight reflecting off of various types of broken glass?

Find these out; then film each of the above through an FLIR system such as in the video -- see if one can tell them apart.

Is it too late to look for spent rounds on the site of the mass death? (There shouldn't have been too many OTHER military/high-performance rounds scattered about the area since then, unless it has since been converted into a shooting range, right?)

NO cheers, unfortunately.

You just described precisely the steps that were taken by the FLIR Project folks. Their use of the same Federal civilian ammo and short-barreled M4s used by the HRT/Delta -- in similar dusty conditions -- produced an uncanny match to the FLIR imagery flashes taped seventeen years ago at Waco.

You have an analytical mind; you owe it to yourself to go to my link and watch the four videos. I believe you will be impressed by their professional thoroughness...

Then why didn’t they pick him up on his morning runs??? I have no sympathy for child predators, but they could have handled it a lot differently... They had people on the inside already. I read an outstanding book about this that presents both sides of the official story, I can’t remember the name of it right now as it was quite a while ago. After reading that book (by respectable authors/journalists), I couldn’t help but feel it was completely unnecessary for them to bring about what Koresh had been brainwashing these people about for years... It was a bad move - a stupid one no matter how you look at it.
