Arizona's Proposed Illegal Immigration Crackdown Akin To Nazi Tactics, Cardinal Roger Mahony Says
April 19, 2010 Cardinal Roger Mahony blasted Arizona's proposed crackdown on illegal immigration, calling it "the country's most retrogressive, mean-spirited and useless anti-immigrant law."
"American people are fair-minded and respectful. I can't imagine Arizonans now reverting to German Nazi and Russian Communist techniques whereby people are required to turn one another in to the authorities on any suspicion of documentation," Mahony wrote on his blog.
The Arizona measure, which has yet to be signed by Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, would require police, if they suspect someone is in the country illegally, to determine the person's immigration status. Currently, officers can ask about someone's immigration status only if the person is a suspect in another crime. Those who can't prove they are in the U.S. legally face misdemeanor charges.
Mahony is a long-time supporter of immigrant rights and has spoken out before on legislation be believes is unfair to immigrants.

I think Mahoney better clean up and deal with his church’s mishandling of child molestors before he lectures the US on how to handle illegal immigrants.

Mother Angelica took Mahony to task awhile ago. Today, except for Hispanics, most area Catholics don’t regard him as their archbishop. He should have been defrocked ages ago. He has disgraced traditional Catholic architecture and liturgy.
Mother M. Angelica, head of the E Word Television Network, was forced by him to issue an apology when Mahony reported her to Rome. Mother Angelica had suggested he denied the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and called on members of his archdiocese to disobey him.
Despite the apology, Mother Angelica continued her critique of Mahony’s pastoral letter on the liturgy, referring to it as “fuzzy” and “confusing.”
In the eyes of many, Mahony’s appointment to the LA Archdiocese was one of JPII’s biggest mistakes.

Mahoney should spend less time undemining the US and acting like a leftist politician looking for more voters and more time cleaning up the cesspool of leftism and sexual sin he is supposed to lead.

Actually the Catholic Church is against illegal immigration just as it teaches in the Catechism. Don’t be a simpleton and confuse the prudential gum flapping of an apostate like Mahony with the actual teaching of the Church.
