It has to do with products containing poisonous substances that were sold decades ago and led to the death of children.

Packing information is cheap and amounts to less than a fraction of a penny for each unit packaged. It is no more onerous than to place an excise tax stamp on packages to show the products are legal.

Transfats are lethal over time. I don’t approve our government banning them but I can see a role for government to call out the dangers of such substances.

I am a big supporter of federal government mandating that each product package be labeled with a federal tax burden estimate in the price of the product. For example, a Starbucks latte for $2 would have either a label on a cup or a placard inside the cafe stating that the federal embedded burden of taxation is estimated to be 20% of the price of the latte, and other products.

"Transfats are lethal over time.

Time itself is lethal. Do we put a government label on that? Better yet walking in front of a moving bus is bad for your health. Let's put a label on the front of the bus to let us know that.
