Hoyer regrets calling tea partiers 'un-American'
Washington Times ^ | April 22, 2010 | Stephen Dinan

House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer said Thursday he and Speaker Nancy Pelosi made a mistake when they called "tea party" participants "un-American" last year.

"That was not a good phrase, not a good use of language, it was not correct," Mr. Hoyer, Maryland Democrat, said, adding that he did not see anything wrong with vigorous debating of philosophies.

Mr. Hoyer and Mrs. Pelosi wrote an op-ed article...

"Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American," the two wrote. The charge became a rallying cry for tea partiers.

Bullsh!t. This wasn’t some caught off guard misspeak. His remarks were in an op ed which was thought about and refined to state exactly what he wanted to say. He meant what he said, he is only sorry that it didn’t get the political results he wanted.

you likely won’t be hanging around Congress next year Stenny...but on the plus side, if they go ahead with their plans to bring The Munsters to Broadway, you’re a shoo-in to land that Herman role

Well if they are really sorry about it, then they should resign from Congress.

That is the least REPUBs would be expected to do.

When they wrote it they did not believe it, nor do they believe the Tea parties are racist or violent.

This is just the campaign they ran to pass the healthcare bill. Matthews began it with wondering out loud why the crowds for Palin books signings and the town hall/tea parties were so white. Matthews ALWAYS starts their campaigns, (remember he began the dehumanization of Cheney/Libby meme). Listen to what he says for the very first clue of the commie strategy.

Pelosi/Reid/Obama/Dem party did not believe the crap they were pushing about GWB for eight years either.

This is all propaganda for the masses, for their base and the uninformed in politics, and it works.

They NEVER fight on ideological grounds, only on smears and intimidation.

And the GOP (and us) still do not know how to battle this properly.

Yeah, what he really meant to say was "Enemy Belligerent."

He only THINKS he regrets it now. After November, he’ll really regret it. People who have never been even remotely politically active are turning out.

On the Tax Day Tea Party Rally in Grand Prairie Texas, I took video camera in hand and interviewed attendees. I did this knowing it would counter the media misrepresentaion of the Tea Partiers.

PLEASE FORWARD these links to anyone who has been lied to by the media and politicians about the Tea Party Movement, which of course is everybody.

It would be wonderful if Marylanders gave Stenny a pink slip this November. THAT would be a fitting ending to this pig.

Acting like a jack@ss once is a mistake.

In their cases, they've blown by 'pattern' and are firmly anchored in 'lifestyle'.

Apologizing for being a jack@ss is useless and insulting...stop being one!!!

That’s funny, because usually the last think liberals (and I do mean ALL of them) worry about is being “un-American”.
