if this idea spreads to some other states...

Georgia = 15 electoral votes

Arizona = 10 electoral votes

whose next?

I agree, but the problem got out of hand because ‘officials’ refused to certify elligibility of certain candidates before their names were put on the ballots in the first place.

not sure how another law would make them do so now.

if those entrusted with upholding qualifications for office had done their jobs, we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in today.

The EV arithmetic is exciting, but the point is that if just one state has a law like this on the books, then it’s fork it over or hit the road for Obama.

Of course he inspired the law. My point is that in responding to the Left’s outrage and derision about the “birthers,” the response should be that this is about the Constitution and the Rule of Law and that it is not directed at anyone any more than the Constitution is. Obama will not be treated any differently than anyone else who runs for the Presidency.

Anyone know the GA state and house is made up? Could this get passed and signed by a GA governor?

Agreed. All are treated the same, the Constitution and the Rule of Law are vindicated, and Obama is out in 2012. Everybody wins.

Read the propsed law or the one that passed in AZ and you will understand what the difference is. And see the reaction from the Left. If nothing is going to change with these laws, why are they so upset?

Exactly my point. Obama may find it much more difficult to get the 270 electoral votes next time, due to not being on the ballot in some states. This idea, plus his declining popularity, could make 2012 very tough for him.

This could even create an opening for Hillary, as she can say Democrats deserve a candidate who can be on the ballot in all 50 states, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Oh, I agree. It should apply to all of them. I think Obama looks like he could be the son of Malcolm X.

If he doesn’t comply with a “show it or blow it” law in just one state, he has massive problems even getting to be the candidate of the D party at all. Not to mention staying out of jail.

So what is going to happen when, to comply with this or any other State law on ballot eligibility, 0bama submits the computer printout COLB from Hawaii DOH?

As far as I can discern, the birther movement has two main goals; to “Free the Long Form” and to see NBC status defined as a child of two citizen parents.

Nothing in this law would advance either cause, AFAICT.

Now I absolutely support this and any other law that enforces Constitutional eligibility, and as such I completely support such legislation (and am somewhat amazed nobody was doing so beforehand). But I don't see where the computer printout COLB from Hawaii DOH wouldn't satisfy the requirements of the law, and as such it doesn't really do much.

Just my 0.02$.

Someone is bound to introduce an amendment specifying the need for a certified copy of an original document.

Well Hawaii DOH says that a computer printout is all anybody (even 0bama) is ever going to get from them.

What happens if the certified copy of an original document is not available? Or the State of birth says they will not release their original document? Many States have moved away from permanent paper records and now rely almost exclusively on computer databases.

So if you are hoping for an amendment to this law, I suggest you contact your Georgia legislators; because the law as written seems to do nothing more than get Georgia State government a computer printout from Hawaii DOH.

This would be good in Georgia...it would be superb in Pennsylvania, Ohio and/or Michigan!

But where where will it be built? By now, we should have heard something.

It’s a huge deal to the town that gets a presidential library.

I recall reading (don’t know where) that the HI originals are still available for use in cases where they are required by an entity that is not controlled by the state of HI. After all, the state of HI can’t dictate what other states, the federal government, or businesses have to settle for. Maybe someone else has specifics about this?

That could be true. But so what? Why would he hide it?

The media would elevate Maclom to sainthood immediately, he would get even more cred with the thug community.

I can’t see where the revelation that his father was X or Davis or OJ for that matter, would do him any damage politically.

Everyone knows his “biography” is pure fiction anyway.

Glad to see Georgia is following Arizona’s lead.
