WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says the government must enact immigration reform at the national level — or leave the door open to "irresponsibility by others."
Obama says a failure to act will lead to more of what he called "misguided" efforts like an immigration bill in Arizona. If signed by the state's governor, the bill would require police to question people about their immigration status if there's reason to suspect they're in the country illegally.
Obama says he has instructed his administration to examine the Arizona bill to see if it violates people's civil rights.

Why would he want to do that, when naturalizing border jumpers could keep him in power for another term?
Failure to defend the borders and the American people also violates the Constitution. When the Feds do their job, the states will no longer see this as necessary.

It’s all about votes. Obama could care less about border security. The Immigration Reform Bill is a fancy word for amnesty. Thank God Governor Jan Brewer is finally doing something to help combat the 460,000 illegals that cross Arizona’s borders every year. It is a massive drain on our economy as Arnoldland is finding out. The Federal Government is not performing it’s Constitional duties and protecting our borders. If Hispanics have nothing to hide than why would they be upset to possibly get questioned? If they wanted to ask questions to transplanted Pittsburghers to Arizona I would not have a problem because I have nothing to hide. We have to do something because it is out of control. The Federal Government has caused this problem and now the States have to fix it. I would like to know from the people opposing this law what are their solutions to this problem? What would would you do?

2) Is Arizona enforcing the federal border.
The constitution requires the feds to secure the borders of the nation. The feds are not doing so, they are not enforcing the law concerning illegal aliens. Americans are being injured and killed.
In the absence of federal government securing the border, the state has the authority to do so.

The states are not prohibted from securing their own borders. In the absence of federal exercise of its authority, it is indeed constitutional.
