Leftwing Evangelicals Twist Scriptures for Dictators
David Horowitz's News Real Blog ^ | 23 April, 2010 | Ben-Peter Terpstra

Remember the movie “Team America”? I don’t know about you – but I’ll never forget those Hollywood puppets appeasing Red Korea and working with Kim Jong Il.

Sad to say, leftwing evangelicals have a history of acting like tools for bloodthirsty dictatorships too. Michelle A. Vu of the Christian Post is reporting on a new move by non-representative Christian leaders to (wait for it) meet North Korea on their talk-therapy grounds.

Similarly, megachurch pastor Rick Warren thinks the United States should talk to North Korea.

“I am not a politician. I am a pastor,” said Warren after North Korea’s missile tests in July 2006. “But I do know that in any conflict – whether in a marriage, in business or between nations – as long as the parties keep talking, there is hope. My plea to everyone involved in this diplomatic process is to please, keep talking.”

The failure of liberalism is rooted in its denial of the existence of true evil (or words to that effect) - Dennis Prager.

Feel good pap from Rick Warren, who is obviously remiss in his O.T. studies.

leftwing evangelicals = not evangelicals

They have usurped the name to suck people in.

Non believing preachers have infiltrated Americas churches and we are seeing the results by the fruit they are bearing.

Churches preaching prosperity driven/purpose driven/social gospel/liberation theology are lead by wolves in sheep’s clothing that are preaching anything but the Gospel.

Reminds me of the preacher reciting the 23rd Psalm while walking toward the machines in War of the Worlds.

That scene (of a preacher confronting a movie monster) is repeated in many movies. Hollywood just loves to make the point that faith is foolish, that God has no power against the “real” world of aliens, zombies, monsters, etc. There are a few pleasant exceptions, like Fright Night, where faith is triumphant.

In real life, not film, faith accomplishes amazing things. Sure, maybe a flesh-eating zombie wouldn’t be swayed by the power of Christ, but then again, zombies aren’t real (Democrats notwithstanding).

Talking with the opposition only works when the other side is willing to talk, and by that I mean be willing to engage in serious negotiations and not just political grandstanding. Also, talking is worthless if our negotiators let the other side have too much without getting anything meaningful in return. Unfortunately, with the 0bama White House, no meaningful talks will take place. We will be willing to give away too much, but it doesn’t matter since the Norks have no reason to talk anyway.

Left-wing Evangelicals are like left-wing anything else.

They twist whatever they are supposed to be experts at, etc.

I went to a liberal church once, by accident.

The pastor read a verse from Isaiah that was full of joy, but the next few verses were full of punishment for the unfaithful.

He stopped reading at that point and then started preaching CONTRADICTING the next verses, without ever reading or explaining them.

He seemed an honest man, but it was the most insane scripture twisting I’d seen in a while. I came to the conclusion he was being self deceptive.

I can relate to your story. Today’s pastors are too feminised.

To be honest, I’ve never seen Warren as a great intellectual. But he seems to be growing dumber.
